Do you drive to your running place then?

That might solve one of my problems, self consciousness and worry of someone I know seeing me trying to run :o
God yes, no way am I running round the streets near where I live! :rotfl:

(actually not quite true, as I run the school run, but I wear 'normal' clothes for that, so to random passers-by, I don't look as though I'm trying to be a runner, just that maybe I'm a bit late for school! :o)

    This is where I go:

    Then you will!

I'll guarantee one thing- you'll be starting in front of me next year. My starting position 50,000th or thereabouts so I'll be chasing you! :p

As you feel really, but it takes 3 days for muscles to fully recover from a run and about 5 days to get the full training effect.
Would there be a better way to do it then? I can change the days around a bit, so could run any evening except Wednesday, but only have Sundays when I can run through the day.

If you've got any suggestions for what I should be doing and when, I'd be really grateful. :)

The entries will start soon after this one has finished I would imagine.

The clue to where I'll be starting is in my sig - an attempt to overtake 35,000, so I'll be starting last! I'll be able to have another cup of coffee after everyone else has started.:p

No, I'd say Weds/Thurs for a shorter easy run and then Sunday for another concentrating on distance. By next Sunday you won't have any after effect from this run.

Okay, thanks - so (last question I promise) would you miss out running on Friday altogether?

If I don't need to be running on Fridays, I could play squash then instead?

If you want to give yourself the best chance of distance on Sunday rest for the 3 days before and you will have fresh muscles. Obviously, if you did that every week you'd be missing out quite a bit of training, but it can be an effective way to get your distance up above 4 miles initially.
