I haven't bought at sorbatol insoles as yet but I do have good running trainers. I ran in shocking trainers for the first 4 months and when I got new ones it was like running on air :)
I think they do come smaller than 10 don't they? Maz trimmed hers down I think anyway

They do - I bought a 5-6 from the website in my link (they might not be the cheapest - I wasn't a very good DFW, just bought from the first site that had my size in stock). They were still a bit on the big side though, so I had to trim them a bit too.

I find when i try to run the whole four miles negative mental attitude takes over and i have never been able to run for a whole four miles...i find i am quicker when i run walk ...this is how I usually go ...run for five mins, walk for 1 min run for 5, walk for 1, then i do a couple of runs for ten to twelve mins, walk for half a min.....I then seem to be able to go for longer the further I go...

I know Rich has said its not good for the muscles to walk in between running as it can do real damage but for some its the only way.
Could you increase your running time to say
    run 5 walk 1
    run 8 walk 30 secs
    run 8 walk 30 secs
    run 10 - 15

any remainder mileage done at a fast power walk
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Right, I've got what might be a really stoopid question.

Are running shoes and trainers the same thing :o
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

Yeah spud, some people say running shoes some say trainers. There are obviously trainers that are specially designed for running (as there are for most sports)

there is a chap who advocated the run/walk method as the only way to run.....can't quite remember his name...

Sally i think i might try the above tomorrow, I have runchum with me and she is a bit slower than me...but we will try this one. I might then try fartlek on the next run...

Yeah there are lots of people that advocate it, most of the running mags, but our resident coach Rich outlined reasons for not doing it.

See how you go, the longer you can run for the better so that you can build up stamina/distance.
Fartlek training helps you to build strength which inturn helps increase your speed (think thats right Rich?) but its HARD work!
