I ventured into a sports store this morning, and looked at things for running. Didnt buy owt, but it's progress innit

Actually went in to get my ever so feminine DD some shin pads and a mouth guard for hockey :rolleyes:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Ok Sammy I will do. Basically you alternate your running speed so that you go at an easy rate or normal rate and then speed it up to over a speed which you would normally race at. So for example I did a 4 mile run and did
1 mile at what I thought was fast
half a mile recovery
1/2 mile fast
1 mile normal run pace
1/2 mile walkI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Okay - this is where I get a bit scared! I normally run 4 miles....but i do run/walk/run/walk.. I struggle for the first bit and then get better towards the end (perversely)....
I haven't done many races so really wouldn't know what my race speed is..but I guess I could just run faster than I normally do for a mile (why is it so bloody hilly where I live?)
What do you do in the half a mile recovery - just run slower
