  • Hi P - hope you had a good run - Pilates is apparently

"The aim of this programme is to tone and strengthen the powerhouse muscles. Takes you through the key postural positions and flowing motions which will provide greater stabilisation in everything you do.

    Better Coordination
    Defined Waist
    Improved Circulation
    Firmer Buttocks & Thighs " :j sounds good :j

Completely scrub my last message however, rang the Leisure Centre and it was £6 to "drop in" on the session and they do it in courses, £40 per course   So I told my friend "I'm a dfw don't you know" and thought I'm not doing that.

So change of plan - went for a run (as I can't run tomorrow as DH is busy and I am in charge of the children).

I did 5.9 miles in 56 mins :j :j , knackered but can now have my rest day tomorrow and follow my programme. This of course means I have done 18 miles this week running

Next - my thigh problem!! I posted on another forum who said that as it had happened so suddenly it was probably "a bit of fluid infiltration in response to exercise and settles down after a few weeks" :j

Anyway just in case I have had a nosey on ebay and bought a pilates DVD for 99p plus £1.49 postage :j . How DFW is that!!!!

Off to get dressed now, supposed to leave for my mum's in an hour, kids not dressed (neither am I but I am not introducing smut to the board :rotfl: )

    Byeeeeee

You normally do!!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Pania - I will hold you to it girl

    Southwester - Hull? Poor you

I originate from the other side of the Humber so I am bound to say that.

I shall do 6-7 miles today. I was going to go to the Running Club last night but because the weather turned bad I decided to leave it until today. I dont mind getting wet on a run but I didn't fancy getting wet before I got there, getting wet again during the run and wet again on the way home. I am not working today so I can run in the sunshine (hopefully)

    Hi everyone,

I found this thread yesterday and have started reading my way through it. I took up running in November 2006, I completed my first 10k last month. I have a Race for life coming up on Wednesday and my first half-marathon in October (The Great Eastern run).

I think the thread is a great idea for motivation so I will be popping in as often as I can, I have not been out running since the 10k so need to get back on track sharpish. I'm swimming tonight, so will run tomorrow morning.

I'm also of the larger chest persuasion, I wear two sports bras and it makes a huge difference. I did have a young type comment as I ran past that 'that must be painful' but with the two bras I hardly feel a thing. :rotfl:

    Yes Welcome bobble-hat

Are you planning any other races between the Race for Life (5k presumably?) and the half Marathon. I always find it much easier to have smaller interim goals as stepping stones

Good luck with your training and have a good swim

Excellent suggestion cnoelj, there are a series of 10ks in my area, I have 4 weekends in a row away from home now, but will sign up for more races when I get back. I have an issue in September as I am on holiday in New Zealand and OZ but will need to be training for October. I think it will be fine and lovely to run in such beautiful countries, but motivation will be an issue :o

You might be able to find a race out there!

  • Afternoon everyone

Nice to have you back Southwester - me being rude - never

Welcome aboard Bobble - glad you find the thread motivational, it's better than being pre-occupied with debt all the time! I think it's a good idea to do some small runs in the interim, keeps you motivated and on your toes (so to speak)

P - I expect at 7.30pm that your light will not be on lady as you will be out - whatever the weather.

I did 3 miles this morning with friend (whilst working from home of course ;) ), she actually told me that she felt bad I was having to wait for her and she didn't want me to slow down for her, as she wanted to get quicker. So I kept my normal pace today and she (although looking like a red balloon facially) kept up and was really pleased.

Am going to continue with my productive working from home day - which has involved:_
washing a pram to put on ebay
checking current ebay prices constantly
    checking bank accounts
    checking match betting situation
    checking budet sheets
checking snowball and the list goes on and on and on but surprisingly doesn't involve work

Afternoon all and welcome Bobble! Never tried two sports bras, I tend to wear one plus a clingy running top thing, am not v large but they definitely need strapped down to prevent bouncing :rotfl:

No running for me today, walked to work and will walk home, hoping to get out for a good long one tomorrow as I don't think my 2 miles yesterday stretched me enough.. went to look at a new flat at lunchtime which is about 5 mins from work, could be bad for the walking routine although it'd give me more time in the evenings rather than taking an hour to get home.. and there's a big gym nearby.. it's bigger than current place, slightly more expensive (renting), but closer to everywhere I go, so no bus fares... hmmm... decisions decisions  Some serious money raising needed over the next month or so for the deposit if I do decide to go for it...

Anyway, enough rambling.. well done with the running everyone - keep it up! :j

Did a 40 minute run this lunchtime. It was warm and windy but another session under my belt.
