Hi,
Well, I managed a walk lol!! So the running will come on the next one - I'm thinking tuesday morning, early, as then there aren't so many people about!! I often see kids I teach and I particularly want to be puffing and panting running (wobbling) along at 1 mile an hour while kids watchSo I'm putting all my running stuff next to the bed tomorrow night and going for it!
I know I wouldn't have done it if not for this thread - so thanks

Morning!
Its officially week one of my walk/run plan (last week was just a practice!)
Admittedly I had to cut it a bit short this morning as i seem to have developed a pain in my right hip (i feel more like 76 not 26 - lol!) so think i will leave the next session til thurs rather than wed. But i WILL be able to jog 3 miles by the end of this plan, i WILL!!
Have a good day everyone! xx0 -

weds: gym = treadmill speedwork then body pump class
thurs: gentle 5Km

I have planned to do a 10k run this morning. I have got changed and it has started to rain, so I feel less motivated. I am posting this because I am telling everyone I am going out and committing myself to report back in an hour or so. hey all, back at home and it's turned into a right grotty day!!!
findingmyownway excellent plan... and now it's here in black and white so you gotta do it!!:rotfl:
CnoelJ i hope you've made it out...your lights off which is a good sign...;)
and as for me... well, yesterday morning at about 9 am i went for a run and decided to extend the distance slightly by half a mile or so. It was the first time i managed to run the whole way and extend the distance :j :j
It's amazing how quickly the ol body responds to exercise. :j I am also (hangs head in shame) a social smoker, and i mean social only. I have been a week and a half without one and i felt great during the run. until cricket yesterday, OH bought a pack of ten and i "borrowed" one. It made me feel really ill which is fantastic as i now am thinking BLEURGH!!! to the thought.
Goal for the week,
1) increase distance again up to an extra mile from what i was originally running.
2) Avoid temptation of a ciggie on friday night if OH takes me to the pub...
3) When i get paid on monday find a 10k run nearby in august and enter it.
So there it is, pen and ink, black and white and now i must stick to it.
hope you all have a good day.
