    Well done everyone :j

Kazl - fab news about another race, keeps the momentum of running up and worth £10 - just think what you might be spending if you weren't out training!

FMOW - bet you do the 10km under an hour, you do run better in a race anyway don't you think? Well done though - running in the rain is refreshing but sometimes a bit too wet!

Southwester - 9min mil pace

Well I did venture out this morning at 5.45 am  in the rain and thunderstorms :( and did 3.3 miles in about 30 mins - we ran by the canal and then back down the main road - most of it uphill  and I was absolutely sodden and drenched when I got in - but I loved it :j

My only problem with running is that although I am still a size 8/10 I obviously have more muscle in my thighs and legs instead of them being thinner - is this just a sad side effect of being a DFW runner? I am eating really well at the moment, chocolate is a treat rather than a regular thing, and I am not drinking alcohol very often (not sure why - must be dfw reasons).

Any advice for trimmer leaner thighs, or am I going to have to stick with it if I want to carry on running?

I agree with what you say Pania – sounds like we are a similar size 8-10. I find my calves bulk up a bit when running. However I just tell myself than slightly bigger muscley & toned legs are far better than smaller but flabby ones!

Also, as you are slim you don’t have so many large stores of fat to burn. so running will burn your subcutaneous fat (that’s just under the surface all over the body). Should lead to more defined facial features and more muscle definition as well as bigger muscles.

Thank you for reassurance - I must admit toned thighs are far better than flabby ones :j I may just have to give in and buy some new jeans - however in a DFW style I will look on ebay and sell my others on there after :j I am usually a size 8, it is just bottom/thighs which are different - ah well as with age I may have to leave size 8 jeans behind me
  • Will you two stop talking about your sizes and your bottoms, :T there is only so much a man can take you know!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
