I very nearly didn't go running yesterday as we've been gardening ( when I say gardening, I mean the serious digging and weeding type ). Anyway, managed to drag myself out but could only manage 28 minutes worth, prob about 2.5 km. I did manage to run an entire length of the field in one go (0.25km), so am pleased about that.

Next run is Thursday night...but still got lots more gardening to do in between.

    Well done everyone

    Keep motivated

    Keep focused

Just returned from a 52 minute steady run with some hills.
Still a little bit of heaviness in my legs after Sunday's race but feeling pretty good

Been out for another 4 miles this evening, DH decided to go out whilst I was at work so no speed work together. Had a good run decided to go new route which goes up and down hills all the way out and back.

It's raining and so it was lovely and cool, enjoyed it and now going for a relaxing soak.

FMOW - would like to get under 60mins but not really bothered, what about you?

    Have good day tomorrow everybody

I feel as if I have discouraged people with my comments about running shoes, which I did not want to do at all.

You should be Ok until you increase your milage. I would probably try to do as much running as possible off road eg grass and tracks. You may be able to find a deal on running shoes. My pair before last I purchased at 1/2 price.

The ones i have were reduced to £18 (can't remember what from) and my mum bought them for me :D They say Hitec running series on label so do you think they are good enough for jogging?

I went out in the pouring rain too. Did 9.5 km in 70 mins. It was hilly and i did take a few walking breaks (to try in vain to clean the rain off my glasses to avoid falling in the canal). I too would like to do the race n under 60 mins.
