I to was a little worried about the trainers, as mine aren't running ones really, but for now they'll do :)

Ooh you're all doing so well :T I'm still choked up with the cold but am making the effort to walk to/from work as many times as possible this week (part to keep me moving and part to save on bus fares  ).. used the Gmap thing to check distance and it's about 2.5 miles - with lots of hills! - and takes me about 45 mins. Really frustrated though as I want to get running.. feel like I need my head scrubbed out and my lungs washed

  • Well done Sea, you're doing fab! As long as your trainers are comfortable and fit to run in you should be fine.

I didn't get out, was at police station until 2am so no way I was going to get up at 5.45am for a run

Am going tonight though - no excuses

Oh dear, I hope everything's OK - were you the victim of a crime or were you perhaps helping the police with their enquiries? Had your children reported the theft of all their toys?

I feel as if I have discouraged people with my comments about running shoes, which I did not want to do at all.

You should be Ok until you increase your milage. I would probably try to do as much running as possible off road eg grass and tracks. You may be able to find a deal on running shoes. My pair before last I purchased at 1/2 price.

I was unfortunate enough to offer to help out a colleague and got called out when a client was arrested  I therefore had the pleasure of trying to defend a pretty vile little man against the police, I did tell him that he had ruined my morning run, didn't look too concerned though

Just googled running shoes and had a quick look. Seems as if there are some offers around at the moment.

Up and running have a sale on some men and womens lines at less than 1/2 price
