Not going out tonight, wedding has caught up with me and am knackered!!!
Excuses Excuses!!
Go on then, we'll let you off for a bit! I'm up at 5.45am tomorrow for a gentle 30 mins - of course with the bronze and waxed legs :rotfl:0 -
5.45am! i didn't know there was such a time! maybe i should try it, i could certainly do with having more time in the evenings0

Its days like this when I love running, I can feel myself getting fitter and the miles don't seem so daunting. I did 4 miles this evening I went down by the beach, the tide was in so it was lovely and cool.
I can't believe the amount of people who drive down to the beach and just sit in their cars! And that's the younger couples too
I had a few words with some teenage lads who decided to wheel spin their bikes behind me and frighten the life out of me, I don't think they expected me to run after them and get them to do it again as I really thought they were 'big'. I told them where to go and they scampered home! Hubbie not impressed and I wouldn't have said anything if there wasn't loads of people about.
Anyway back to the running, I going to do 4 miles again tomorrow then on Wednesday DH and I are going to do some speed work  Not sure if I'm looking forward to that one or not.
Glad everyone is getting out there, half the battle is putting on your trainers sometimes and once you're out it's fine.0 -

Me neither - will see if I can drag myself out of bed first :rolleyes:0 -
I never look forward to speedwork evab, although when I keep at it regularly I really see the benefit“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0

That's so true, once the trainers are on there's no going back. Since going out on my own last week I know that even if my friend can't run then I will go alone and this is the deal we have struck. She hates it if I run without her (incase I beat her :rotfl: ) so our incentive is to run alone if the other can't run so that the other feels like they're missing out - does that make any sense at allI have just drunk a glass of rose

Hi all
I've just read through this thread and I am sooo impressed with you all! You're doing fab
I ran for a while a few years ago before getting pregnant with my son, and would really like to get back into it. I can't afford new trainers, but have some decent ones still. however, I am scared of hurting my back again as I did it in by overdoing it at the gym in feb and am worried about doing it again.
Has anyone any hints of what I could start off doing in order to protect my back so tht I can start running again? I didn't like running at first, but it didn't half tone my wobbly bits after a while

I ran with Dh early last week and ended up having a row with him as he wouldn't slow down for me  when he did slow down I overtook him and as waiting for him for about 5 mins at the end :rotfl:
He drove home in a sulk and didn't speak to me all night and accused me of being competitive :rotfl: We have agreed never again :j0
