    Hi everyone
Did last training run from the race for life walk, run, walk plan. If anyone told me 6 weeks ago that a 2 mile run would seem short I wouldnt have believed them :D Am now resting ready for Tuesday night.
My next dilemma will be whether or not to keep running after the run. Part of mean thinks yes because I've got so much better at it (still really bad but compared to 6 weeks ago  ). The other part of mean thinks I really hate running and and dont want to do it any more. I will decide after Tuesday.

do you really hate running? even though you are seeing big improvments? would you like it better if you were better at it?

Hi I've used http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ If you enter in your area and then press options it allows you to select UK. I have always found it really good.

I went this morning and it was really warm and humid so we took it very easy - hips ache now! Well done for going though

Just been reading the updates - well done everyone.

I had a good half-marathon in Southend this morning and I clocked 2hours and 20 seconds. Just waiting for the official times to appear on line and I expect my chip time will be just under the 2 hour mark

At this stage of my training I am delighted. I did not even know I was running until Thursday evening and have not run anything like the distance since the beginning of the year when I went down with a bad bout of flu followed by a chest infection

It was hot! I like to feel a breeze or a little drizzle on my face. Instead I was pouring bottled water over myself.

It was a great route. Taking in outlying areas around Southend, although as often happens the course was not quite as flat as claimed in the publicity.

Organisation was good - Changing facilities with showers and water stations every 5 kilometers. Most of the route was traffic free and was well marshalled.

I would certainly recommend this event and I feel that I am well on my way to returning to fitness.

Need now to think about my next event

The only enjoyable bit about running is the fact that I'm getting better at it! I feel quite nervous about Tuesday - I would like to run the majority of it but I'll have to just do the best I can.

For calculating distances I've used the running ahead site too. I got the link from somewhere on here and its been working fine
