I've been planning a few routes with the Gmap thing to see how far they are so will hopefully get out there next week (cold seems to be going at last)! Think I'm going to try to do a couple of evenings on the treadmill in the gym and a couple of outside runs a week.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

I have not been out for a run but must have used up almost as many calories in cleaning my kitchen! Does that count? Please? Don't make me feel guilty for leaving my running shoes in the cupboard
I have got a sparkly kitchen though.....:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi everyone, went for a lovely run up the track this evening I decided to stay away from the attacking seagulls as I didn't fancy having my eyes pecked out today. They swoop down and try and poop on you because their young are about and they are trying to protect them.
The track is great it is quiet but not isolated so pretty safe really, going up the track is a steady gradient so when I got to the 2 mile point I did have a bit of a breather. Coming back surprise surprise is downhill so it was easy on the legs. Managed the last 1/2 mile at 9:30 pace.
I don't know if I'll run tomorrow or have a rest day as I'm feeling fine but don't want to over do it, will wait to see if I can walk in the morning!
Hope everyone has had a good day!

Hi Ev, Well done, you are doing brilliantly!
Have you done 3 days on the run now (excuse the pun), if so maybe you need a break for a day? How far did you go today, sounds like you are doing really well.
I sorted out my training plan last night for North Run and it involves 5 runs a week  and I need to aim for 70 - 120 mins at least once a week in one go   In order to show willing, me and friend are setting out early tomorrow morning and instead of setting our mileage we are hoping to run for 70 mins - _pale_
Will report back later - if I'm still breathing :rolleyes:0 -

Well done :T
Remember rest days are just as important as training days. You must give your body a chance to recover. Unless you are about to do a Marathon, I dont see much point in running more than 4 times a week. In fact 3 times is enough most of the time.
Just hours before my Southend half Marathon run. Haven't ran since Thursday evening in preparation for this. Done a bit of walking just to keep loose.“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0 -
Hi blackangel, I did 4 miles this evening for some reason the GPS didn't quite show that when I got back to the house so I ran up the road and back to make sure!!
I've done 4 days I think, can't remember! I will probably have a rest tomorrow just go for a stroll along the beach with the family.
Wow 5 weeks to run the GNR, how far are you doing now? My hubbie said to me that mileage is not always as important as how long you are out running and that you weekly long run should be at a much slower pace than your others. He's ex-army so it's handy having a personal trainer at times!0 -

Good luck with that. I am hoping for all our sakes it is not as muggy tomorrow as it has been here in London today.
You have a running partner. That makes life so much easier. Look forward to reading your report. I will be reporting on my half Marathon“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0 -
