I have been sitting on an exercise ball for all of this week instead of a chair and the effect on my stomach is amazing - it is hard :j And no effort either :rotfl:0 -

Oh dear, perhaps we should have a rota for the encouraging role?
I have spent rather a lot of time on this thread too compared with my fifteen minutes of actual running (oh, ok then, walking and running).Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Motivational hint of the day - This works!
You dont feel like running.
Just change into your running gear that may be enough to get you going.
Tell yourself you are just going to do a few stretches and a bit of deep breathing.
Decide to walk down the road or around the park in your running gear
9 times out of 10 this will work and you will find yourself running. If not the walk wont have done you any harm
Remember doing something is better than nothing. If you have decided to do a hard 6 mile run - dont give up entirely because your body wont let you. You will feel good after an easy 2/3 mile run and will likely to be really up for a more substantial run the following day.“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0 -
Hello running types! :hello:
I want to pledge myself as a future member if that's okay...
I started running a couple of years ago and loved it, and yes the weight does fall of you, I loved going to the gym as well especially spinning classes, and swimming... had an injury this time last year (bursitis) and that stopped me in my tracks, and now I'm pregnant! I really miss running... I wasn't fantastic at it and don't think I ever got under 9 minute/mile but the exhileration of being outside and feeling your body working... it's pretty addictive!
Anyway I have been thinking about it recently and I really want to get back into it after the baby is born - does anyone know how long you should wait with this kind of thing?
I know I can still swim  and I should too but my body is all pregnantMaybe I will get the courage to give it a try, I work next door to a pool and used to go at lunchtime twice a week, relaxing and energising, I am jsut shy and nervous now.
Anyway this thread is a great read and your motivation is inspiring, I'll be cheering you all on at the sidelines! :T0 -
Right-oh another member of the supportes club - albeit only for a short while. When is your EDD? I think someone on here was restored to full working order after only 2 weeks. Mine children are at uni, and I'm still waiting to get my figure back.0

TWO WEEKS!! blimey... there's hope for me yet then!
I am due 12th October so a fair way to go... it will be like I've never ran before I'm sure, I remember the first time I went outside (after 'playing' with the treadmill in the gym) I thought I was going to collapse or that my legs would just stop me dead in my tracks... I'll look forward to reliving that
Actually I'd love a treadmill to be honest, winter runs were hard going and it was too tempting to settle on the sofa and watch tv instead... not very MSE though are they!0 -
Hi all,
I managed to do 3.2 miles yesterday, felt fine so hoping to do 4 miles this evening but waiting until a bit later as far too hot at the minute. Planning to do a flat run along the beach, it will be a bit cooler when I get down there.
2 weeks and 2 days until Leeds 10km!0
