Morning guys!
Wow your shoe buying process sounds quick - I just buy the ones in the nicest colour! God there's a market for nice looking trainers that just isn't fufilled at the moment.
No offense Rich but BMI 30! Are you made of muscle or something!?!
Speaking of knees...I'm still having trouble with mine (both now) - managed the usual 3 miles this morning but not sure if I'll be able to go out again tonight... what do others do to look after theirs?
Morning Becky,
re the BMI 30 I refer to my first post on here 6 days ago (2252).
The sore knees thing - thats where the Sorbothane come in. Every time your foot hits the ground 3x your weight gets jarred up your leg and through your knee. Ouch.
Sorbothane are just insoles which take 97% of that force and redirect it out of the side of the sole - brilliant stuff.
I'd quite happily do away with the shoes (however nice they look) and just stick the Sorbothane to my feet. lol

Although i jest about the designer shoes above, i'm more of a ShoeExpress kinda gal!
And the most expensive shoes i own are probably my new balance trainers!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

I just get it at the same time as getting the shoes - but it is funny that the kids haven't a clue why someone would want to pay £15 for some shoes and then £15 for some insoles.
I've just realised I've missed a trick here - I could have set up some affiliate thing and coined it in. (maybe thats the clueless imbecile in me coming to the fore yet again lol)Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

You should. I don't know whether you noticed on Sunday, but in most races there are loads of runners with knee strappings, ankle bandages and other paraphenalia.
If only they knew how simple the answer was.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

I've just bought some! Can't wait to see if it makes a difference... i got the double shock ones, as i've not got knee trouble or anything specific but i dop get hot burny soles of my feet (as well as hot sweaty but we'll gloss over that!)
I think it's actually the lining of the NB ones as it is less annoying than it used to be....
So do you rip out the exisitng insole...? Does that not weaken the shoe?I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

I've always used the double shock ones. Yes, rip out the existing ones, peel off the plastic coating and then position the front of the sole in place first. There's a bit of a skill to it because they're quite sticky on the underside, so ideally you want to get the positioning right first time!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
