ow ow ow...got a bit lost running this morning (rather the route I thought wasn't the road I ran) and ended up going miles out the way and then realising I had to run all the way home...11.65 miles later. Tonight I can barely walk and haven't sat down all day as its was DD's 3rd birthday party. Absolutely shattered tonight.I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

wow Sally!!! You are awesome!!
good training for the half marathon!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Yes, good job Sally, even if it wasn't what you planned!
After resting for the last 3 days, I went for a run this morning, about 5.5k. Shins feel OK and I was back to 4'39" per km, so I'm obviously not subconsciously going easy on them! Got Badminton tomorrow and Football on Wednesday, so no more running until Thursday and/or Friday. Don't want to get an injury before my race.
Hope everyone else is doing OK.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
Hey all, wow Sally, that's brilliant, hope you're not too achy today. Afraid I have to admit that it's just not happening here, been absolutely shattered for the last week, and this morning I've got a sore back - I give up!
Well, no actually I don't, been doing some gentle pilates exercises and going to have a look round for local classes when I get paid (used to do it but class was cancelled and never got round to finding somewhere else). Really stuck with the running, I like it once I get into it but I can't seem to get over the mental block of getting out there again, and my body seems to be rebelling as well

Well, did speed walking in break again today, I know I must try the running thing again, but think I have a mental block on it as I get breathless thinking about it and just know I will look stupid cos I can't do it, and I know you will all say that I'm being silly, and I probably am but!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Herewegoagain, are you worried about people seeing you out of breath? Don't worry about that, I run as fast as I can push myself and am panting like a dog most of the way (nice image, I know, you're welcome!). I'm not sure what you mean by "can't do it", I think everyone can, but people just look different when they do, I wouldn't let it bother me.
As for me, went for my run this morning like a good boy! 5.5k pace 4'48", not overly impressive, but I'm reasonably pleased!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
Did a run this morning, but stopped after 2Ks as my knee was starting to feel stiff (not really painful, just not quite right). Should be fine, I'm just not taking any chances ahead of the 10K on the 31st. I'm running the actual route of the Nike 10k this Monday, so I'll know what I have to do on the day a bit better.
Hope the rest of you are doing OK.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
Morning...skulks in...haven't been running for a week and was supposed to go this morning, but the lashing rain on the windows at 6am! Well lets just say my bed was calling for me to have a lie in. I am going to go swimming tonight and I WILL get up and do a long run in the morning. 3 weeks until the half marathon! ahhhhhhI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Sallyx! Forgot to say earlier that I sucumbed to the Nike + get up and have decided that I will most *probably* sell the Garmin and hopefully it will go to a good home and someone who is a bit more of a hardcore runner than me! I tried to caliberate it the other day but did it COMPLETELY wrong so haven't used it properly yet, but plan to get it sorted for the half next month! Did you get one in the end?:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0
