Good to hear everyone else is getting on well :)

i'm not getting on well honey... that effort was my first in a long time,

Remember but 6 weeks ago you were able to walk a bleeming marathon honey!!

You will manage it if you set your mind to it,, Postive mental attitude and all that guff!!

    PMA!

    PMA!

    PMA!

    PMA!

Can you tell i've been watching too much American Biggest Loser!!??

Seriously hun, i betcha you could manage it, think how many hours at a time you devoted to your walking training and how you managed to fit that into your busy schedule.... so i reckon you could easily fit in 45 minutes 3 times a week if you set your mind on it......

    Go squizzer!!!!

Red, you can do it! You'll be amazed at how quickly your fitness goes up in just a few weeks. Don't be put of by the likely slow start to training (we've all been there).

I didn't run this morning (was pouring down outside). Playing badminton tonight though, so I don't feel too bad about it!

I think I have shin splints  Went for a run yesterday and played football in the evening, then another run this morning (about 4.5k). My shins have been aching for a while now. At first I thought it was just aching muscles, but all my other muscles don't ache any more from exercise. I guess I'd better give it a rest until Monday. Shame, coz I wanted to do another 10k this weekend to prepare for my 10k race at the end of the month. Fingers crossed it'll sort itself out. If anyone has any advice on how to deal with them, let me know!

P.S. Good work sallyx and HBFS, keep it up. You'll feel much better once you're in a routine.

They're not as bad as they sound. It's just tears in the muscles that need time to repair themselves. That's how muscles get stronger anyway, just taking a bit longer. I ran yesterday (not today obviously) and I was noticeably (about 20 seconds a km) slower, so I must have subconsciously been going easier on them anyway. Best to give them a rest and get going again on Monday.
