Donna that was me in March this year, however I haven't actually done my half yet. Meant to reply to you earlier too...yes have decided to do the Bristol, was just easier to get to otherwise I would definately done the chippenham one with you.
Have you applied for the FLM 2009?
Did a 3 miler this morning and will be out again on thursday morning
I am soooo gutted everyone I know who runs is running Bristol and it is the same day as the Chippenham oneI really want to run Bristol now, especially as I live in Bristol, but the Chippenham one means my folks will be able to come and cheer me on at the end...and hopefully treat me to a Sunday Lunch afterwards too!
I am deffo NOT making the same mistake I have made before, in that I ran the half and didn't eat anything for lunch and by tea time, I was nearly passing out on both halfs
Really bad. Am gonna force myself to eat this time round, even if it is just a flapjack and a banana or something!
Not applied for FLM yet...was very close too, but am concerned about time of training runs and working it around looking after the madam! I really want to do one, maybe 2010...I dunno! Will be such hard work but I love my running, would be good to get faster too before attempting one as I don't really run very fastnot as fast as I would like anyway!
I did some running today but had to resort to the treadie in the gym as it was hammering down during my lunch hourDon't like using the treadie to train but needs must! I too will be back runnig again on Thursday, hopefully the weather will be nicer!

Hi everybody
Been away for a while as I have had to cut down on the running due to ankle problems. Finally decided to get it checked and it seems that I have some degeneration of the bone going on down there which requires an operation to basically hoover it all up and give it a good clean out. Means now 6 weeks out of running from the op date 26th August; I can run up until then but not as much as I would like (the problem and pain occurs when I stop running adn the next day). I have one more race to do which i the Toraby 10k on the 24th and Im allowed to do that as long as I dont race it as to say ;22/07/07 Debt - Tesco 17644 (6.1%) - Now 10500

Sig is looking good SW!!!
I think we forget about the MSE side when we come into the running forum!
Sorry to hear about the ankle, you do sound remarkably calm about it all? Sounds horrific if you ask me!!
You've been missed in these parts, don't stay away so long in future!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

Hi all, just checking in. Did a 5.5k run this morning. Was quite pleased with it because it was a lot of running up and down hills. I've been going 6-7k on my "flat" run, though I didn't run yesterday and I won't tomorrow.
RE: the Nike+ stuff, I'm quite happy with my wristband and shoe sensor. I haven't got an iPod nano (got a classic), so don't use my Nike+ stuff with that. What does the iPod actually do? Evening All
Just checking in...and making sure everyone is being good
Did a 8mins easy 8 mins max speed 8 mins easy 8 mins max...my god my legs are falling off tonight! 7 weeks to go until half marathon, was thinking all the way around my run this morning that I don't think I am ever going to be able to run that distance....
Donna, thanks for all that info on the Nike/Garmin. Have decided for now that I am going to get the Nike and use with Ipod. Just a bit cheaper for the time being and when and if I need the extra gismos the garmin offers will get it at a later date.I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Heya Sallyx! Good call! I haven't used the Garmin for a while and plan to use it this weekend to get an idea of my minute mile pace. At a good day is about 10 minute miles but *think* I may be a little faster now but the Garmin should tell me when I attempt my 9 miler either Saturday or Sunday.
I usually try and do a longer run on Sunday but have a kiddie free evening tomorrow so might run then instead and get it out of the way!
Saying that I did a 5 miler today at lunch and got soaked...drat! That reminds me...my running kit is still in my rucksack...eeeeew! Better sort it out!
Interval training is hard isn't it! I have promised myself that once the half is over with next month, I am gonna keep up with the 3 runs a week so as when I run the next half, I will still have optimum strength, well that's the idea anyway!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
Six or seven miles this morning at a good pace. I will be working lates next week so I am planning three runs home at 1.00am!“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0

Afternoon all
Did an easy (slow) pace 5 mile run this morning and got back and felt refreshed and like I could have run it again which is good. In the past I have always just run and pretty much maximum speed so nice to know I can run longer distance if needed!I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....
