Well done IA, you are so going to do this RFL no problem!!

I was out last night, programme was due to be run10/walk2 x 2, run 5.... but when we got to last set we thought we would push for run 10mins,

    So essentially run10/walk2 x 3!!

It was hard, we reversed our normal route in runchums village thinking it to be relatively flat apart from one or two humps in the road, turns out it was an incline most of the way! Somehow it never seemed to be anything but level when running in the other direction.

Really had to dig in for the first 2 x 10 minutes but the last set was much easier...

Didn't cover much more distance really, just an extra loop of a street or two, considering it was an extra 6 minutes running but then I don't think I run much faster than i walk!!

    Well done Maz.
I know exactly mean about inclines. It always seems flat until you attempt it the other way!

I did a six mile club run last night. I am going to do the Southend Half Marathon on 8 June. I will be looking to do at least one 10 mile run in preparation.

I ran it last year in 2 hours 30 seconds. This time I am looking to see a 1 in the hours column. I ran it with 3 days notice so I had not prepared for it specifically and of course I have a recent marathon under my belt.

They have changed the course this year. It was through villages around Southend. They are included the sea front this time around.

Couldn't resist new shoes last night.

I had a quick 10minute blast last night and guess what - all aches and pains gone today!!!

I'll be good and have a night off tonight though... (sounds kind of counter intuitive...)

Well done Lucifa, you know your own body and limits, so sounds like it was right for you.

    Here's a pic

    http://store.nike.com/emeastore/index.html#,en,,url;stage,landingpage-309108-309108-180371//180369///|0 (Edit:does - I just checked)

Hopefully it takes you straight there. If not you can google Nike+ Zoom Vomero 3 - don't look at the price though:eek: .

To be honest if Hubbles hadn't offered to pay I would have got them anyway as my body needs to last me a lifetime... although on Monday it felt like it had already been someone elses for at least that long - and we're not talking 'one careful owner either'!!!

Comparing to my old Nike+ Shox (the shoe specialist was horrified!!!:o ) its like comparing a brick to a pillow!

I was skeptical but the difference is amazing and I'm looking forward to pounding out many miles on them.

It makes a difference having a decent pair of running shoes. I know a lot of people like their gadgets and I am not knocking it, but all you really need in this game is good footwear.

    Hi everyone

Brilliant going on the training and races - crossing that finish line on the day will make it so worthwhile. It is simply the best feeling when you have worked so hard!

I agree with SW re the rest, I pushed myself too hard when training for FLM and was running 4 -5 days per week and made myself ill. I now aim to run 3 times a week and then cross train for 2 other days, i.e. swimming, cycling etc

Have seen the Dr who has referred me to a physio, but I went on the treadmill last night with friend to test my knee out and it was absolutely fine! We did some speed work and I did some bursts of a 7.45 min mile :j

So am now definately back in training for my half marathon in Sept, the aim being 3 runs and 2 x-train and 2 lovely rest days :D

Off for a swim now and then trying to find something to watch other than football!

What is there apart from football?

As Bill Shankly once said 'Some people think that football is a matter of life or death. I dont agree with that, It is far more important than that' :D
