    Maz!! hello you!!!! thanks honey!

    I've found a couple of places near to where we live so I'm going to go along at the weekend.

    I really want to make this a part of my life! I'd love to do the london marathon one day (I've never run before)... big dreams huh?

    I also found it easier to stick to my training once I'd parted with some cash in entry fees for a 'proper' run although today I'm wirshing it had been a 5k!!

    If anything aching more than yesterday despite taking 'expert' advice and going out for 25mins last night...

    On the plus side, as a well done, Hubbles bought me some decent running trainers so I'll be out again tonight for a test run!

    Lucifer, not preaching or nothing but rest is as crucial as the running; Every time you run you have little micro tears in your muscles which need rest to recover. In my opinion and im not saying Im right you should have a rest day between runs at this stage. you could open yourself upto injury;
    I only know this because I was running 4-5 times a week when training for the marathon but my body couldn't hack it and I kept picking up injuries so I swam on 1 day and ran 3 times a week.

    Hopefully JB and CN will back me up, just making sure you dont injure yourself hun

    I did think a rest was probably in order too, but as i'm a newbie runner i didn't like to say.

    Don't overdo it lucifa! new trainers will still be new tomorrow if you have the night off.

    I agree. You need to build yourself up to running consecutive days and even then it is not necessarily beneficial. Running too often can also become a chore eventually - something which you feel you have to fit in and maintain, whether you are enjoying it or not. I am reading more and more recently about professionals advising fewer runs, but with more quality

    Thanks - wasn't planning a proper run tonight - just a 10min blast of fresh air. I sit at a desk all day and since I started running I find I am less prone to stress so long as I get some proper fresh air once a day and as a sufferer of migraines that has been a very valuable lesson

    LP I agree to go to a specialist shop for your trainers, I wear a mens shoe as it is a wider fit and they have been the best pair I've ever had.
