    Hi all!!

Have found a local 3k race which i am going to do after the RFL this year, i know it's only 3k, but i quite like the thought of running locally!

    http://www.adamsoftwaredesign.com/SHM/index.htm

It's organised alongside the half marathon in the town.

Don't care if i'm last (i know i will be!) but going to enter it soon as payday comes.

Just thought i would update on my plans!

Glad its not broken SW, that could have been a nightmare.
Maz that 3k looks good and will give you something to aim towards to run its entirety
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

    Exactly what i was thinking!

I will try to run all of the RFL 5k, but i know i might allow myself 1 or 2 short walks if required. Currently approaching run 10 minutes so should be nearer 15mins consequentively by raceday.

how's your running doing, you seem to be beavering on!!

Going well Maz, but finding it harder to get myself ot of bed in the morning...it was easy when I knew I olny had 15 mins to run but now at around 40 mins its a challenge. I love it when im out, and how great I feel afterwards so thats what I have to think about!

I like my new frame (I was slightly underweight before) but I need to get toning before I go flabby!!! ekk!

Anyway, I'd like to join.. but I'm a bit of a novice.. I need some trainers but not sure which are best??
I need a good road and indoor running trainer... (for outside and gyn use)...

Hi LP - well done on giving up smoking!

Best thing to do re trainers is get yourself to a specialist running shop with a treadmill to check your stride and tell them what you want it for and they'll advise you with no big sales pressure. There are usually good deals on most of the year so don't be worried they'll be mega expensive.

I'm off to look for a pair at lunchtime as a 'well done but no quitting' pressie to myself for doing the 10k on Sunday

I'll check it out for sure, but at the moment I just need a good brand / make of trainer (and cheapish) to get me started...

    Mwah!!! :kisses3: Hello little pickle!

I'm sure someone far better qualified than me will be along to tell you that you should go to a running shop and get your feet assessed, apparently that is the done thing.... i haven't yet, but a change of trainers has eased a problem i had so i think it to be true.

Apprently they shouldn't push you to purchase anything... but you never know you might get a bargain!

Edit: try M&M sports, once you know what suits your feet. plus quidco cashback.

    Keep us posted gorgeous!

Sally, you're certainly making good progress, and yes the highs are unbeatable aren't they.

Went out at 9am (early for me on a weekend!!) on sunday morning, didn't want to but once i came back i felt elated all day for having done it. This is what we need to remember eh?

I would recommend new balance. if you look at where the soles of your shoes are worn down you should be able to see if you are neutral or need support in your shoes. If there's a lot of wear on the inside of your feet you may need support.

A google search will chuck out articles to give you info on what you need to look at and the Runner's World website has loads of info for a beginner including training programs to get you started.
