    Morning All
Sun is out, sky is blue..ish! Well have been for a run and did 17 mins today and found it quite easy considering, so really pleased. Just route planned it and it works out at 1.6 miles. Also No stitch :j . Had some cereal when I got in from swimming last night and had 1/2 pint of water before I left, so thanks for your advice last week.

right better get my DH and DD out of bed!

  • Well done everybody, sounds like we've all been busy this weekend

I did 5 miles on Saturday and morning and discovered I ve still got my marathon legs, ie felt carp!!!!

Going out again tonight to see if it is any better

Re running clubs, Im hoping that the experience above is a one off, our running club have a dedicated runner, who meets and greets new members. We have various differant groups that go out at differant paces, you can go in any group you want; I think this is the norm and its every so friendly

    Good luck

I run over Cannock Chase. The only people there are usually dog walkers or other runners. Saves the embarassment factor.

Morning all.... haven't updated my weekend exertions!

On friday my runchum met me after work and we went out for run3/walk3 x 4 as per the programme. It felt okay, breathing was raggy but not bad in the legs.

On sunday, at 0930am, again!, we went out and did run3/walk3 x 4 again. It was a lovely day, quite sunny so good practice for the RFL as it is in June. Legs felt good, breathing better but not ideal. my new mantra is in thru nose/out thru mouth! and i was repeating it the whole time internally!!

Erin came with us on sunday am, she took her bike, of course she ended up having a mini crisis, fly in her eye, twice. Both times during our running stints. I had to tell her to blink, blink blink and mum'll look at it when we get to a walking part. Poor child.

Disgusting thing is the flies didn't come out of her eye until hours later, i was boaking!!

Shades a gogo next week for everyone!!!

I run in the country roads near my village and i do get paranoid when we do our town runs, even though they are only wee places, it's horrible to meet up with a group of kids, or workmen or something. Plus i go as red as a beetroot so never glam!!

Hehe, there is nothing graceful about me, but neither is there anything worth staring at either. I can be quite confrontational, and suspect I might just charge up to one of these people soon-ish and say something.

Can't believe a one-legged guy would have the nerve to comment - must be jealous (excuse my tactlessness).

Hi all, welcome to Barcode, and great to see everyone doing so well! :) With my weekend away I've done, um, nothing very healthy apart from the afore mentioned dancing, though the effects of that might have been somewhat counteracted by the cooked breakfasts and large amounts of red wine (not with breakfast :rotfl:). Pretty knackered so going to give myself a couple of days only doing easy walking then get back into things!

As for the staring, I must admit it I do get a bit self conscious sometimes, luckily there seems to be quite a lot of runners/ joggers near me. My only bad experience really was a few years back running through a park when a few guys who were hanging about started shouting comments, still makes me  now thinking about it.

Just got back from the gym, it's been raining heavily here this morning and I was expecting the running club to be cancelled. But it brightened up by late afternoon so I was hopeful. However I got down there to find both the instuctor, and the substitute instructor off sick  so I just did my usual routine in the gym.
Next week, unless I can swap my shift, I won't be able to go. I was all excited for it too :(
My leg was aching after my set so a rest day due for me tomorrow.

Hey all, went out last night. I thought it was run 5/walk 3 x 3... but my chum thought it was run 4, and who was i to argue, so we did run4/walk3 x 4... it felt okay. Quite focused, no chit chat(well only on the walks!!) so went past quite quickly.

Got home to find out it should have been Run 5/walk 3 x 3!! how wierd! so we ran further in amount but not in consecutive minutes, if that makes sense?!

Oh well, still counts doesn't it!!!?

Hey Maz, the main thing is your building up the time that your running for and the whole time your are exercising so its got to be good!

How's everybody doing? Been getting back into it, 4-5 miles a day, planning a long walk for tomorrow - about 15 miles, hoping the weather stays nice. 6 weeks till the Moonwalk.. eek!
