crikey, is lovely to see this thread still going strong. And again welcome to all new comers!!!!

I have the MRI scan on Thursday so hoping it isn't going to be too long until i can get back in with the fun again. I have weight to loose and races to run! eep!
Got my eye on a 10k in july, don't think i'll be fit enough before that will be almost back at the beginning again.

Keep on running people, you're all doing great! :D

    Hi

Noticed this on the DMP thread. Cannot help I'm afraid. Why not start a new thread with the same question. Opens it up a bit to the general DFW board.

    Hi Sally

Did you eat anything before you went for a run? I used to get stitch on an early morning run after I'd had a banana and it's horrible isn't it? I would then either do a short run or make sure I had left 2 hours between eating and running.

Well done for getting up so early.:T

I can't wait to get back into it, but don't want to push my knee so will stick with the x training for the next few days and see how I go.

No JB I didn't eat anything i literally got out of bed at 6am and went straight out the door. Maybe it was because I had a really empty stomach (had tea 6pm the night before and had been swimming hard for an hour after that)
My Wednesday run I will do in the evening so hopefully I won't get stitch.
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Hmm two training session since you had eaten. I often run early without eating but having something after the swimming would have been a good idea

I ate fruit and yogurt when I got in so did eat something just wasn't my main meal. Probably still not a good idea for the future, just didn't even cross my mind.

A carbohydrate meal would have been good. Perhaps not too much if you came in lateish. Something like beans on toast or jacket potato maybe

  • Chris is the man in the know :D

I can tell how much better I am when I have eaten and then run a few hours later, rather than on an empty stomach.

Just trying to work out when I can fit a run in as DH is away, may try one on Weds, just a gentle 4 miles me thinks.
