Hi JB. I have heard about that method and I am sure there is something in it. Just done exactly 60 minutes, steady pace with hills.

Have a lovely afternoon Maz, def think you will sleep well tonight. When is your next run/walk?

Should be monday but has been deferred to tuesday (i have brownies with erin, she's having her promise ceremony so we need to be there!)

Will be run2 walk 4 again, which since this one was painless (well apart from breathlessness!) i am quite looking forward to it!

    Enjoy your swim hun.

Had planned on taking Erin swimming today, but doing other stuff instead, and am skint so better to do free stuff. Plus it's a lovely day here so many other free things we can do!!

Have just been out with dogs! 2 miles again, legs are knackered!

I've just come back from the gym, I managed another full 15 minutes running! :jI've picked up the application form for the running club while I was there, the beginner club starts at 14+ min miles, with lots of stops.
At the moment when I manage to run the full 15 minutes I'm running a distance of 1.86 km, which I think is just over a mile, so should be perfect for me to start with.

Good luck Raphael joining your running club, will also hopefully join one in June if everything goes to plan.
Well have got up early before my DD got up and went for my 12 min run. Had stitch all the way through so not sure morning running suits me, normally go when I get in from work. Anyway its done and out of the way, and actually apart from the stitch the extra 2 mins added today was easy and I didnt really notice it. Am really looking forward to being fit enough to run for 30mins!
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

  • Hi Sally

Did you eat anything before you went for a run? I used to get stitch on an early morning run after I'd had a banana and it's horrible isn't it? I would then either do a short run or make sure I had left 2 hours between eating and running.

Well done for getting up so early.:T

I can't wait to get back into it, but don't want to push my knee so will stick with the x training for the next few days and see how I go.

  • Hi all

Been away on the kids I coach rugby tour so havent run since the marathon last week, but going out tonight for a 5 miler i think, got half marathon end of May so need to pick the pace up a bit

All the newbies seem to be doing really well and dont worry about run/walking, its the best way to start and build up; Anybody with the right attitude to training and will can run the marathon but it does need that spirit and determination to get you there. JB & CJ will back me up, some things have to be given up or done in moderation (beer for me) and I dont mean now, nearer the marathon, be careful to respect your partner as well, because it can take over your life for 4-5 months. I set a plan that meant my long runs were early sunday morning therefore getting up at 0530hrs so Sunday wasnt messed up.

Good luck to all the newbies with the running, whether it be RFL, half or full marathons, just remember you can do it.

    Good luck

Morning all.. I managed to do about 6 miles yesterday and another 3 this morning on the way to work, bit worried that I'm behind with training schedule but should be able to pick things up over the next few weeks, as long as I don't feel as washed out as I did this weekend!

Other than that, I have a long term plan to get running again after the Moonwalk (June), to train for the Great Yorkshire Run (10k) in September, and then work my way up to either the London (April) or Edinburgh (May) marathons - suspect it will be Edinburgh, much as I'd love to join some of you in London I can't see me getting sorted out to enter the ballot in time.

Glad to see everyone doing well! :)
