  • That's three slaps on the wrist in one morning :rotfl: I'm just worried about what to do when I get in there, who I have to speak to etc etc and everyone being all clicky with each other and just sitting/running there like billy no mates

Feel a lot better this morning, knee finally seems to have stopped seizing up and I managed steps forwards which is always a start!

Think I may have a little post marathon blues though as really fed up this morning, chafing is hurting quite a lot as well - listen to me, moan, moan, moan............................

It's not surprising you have the blues. After building up to something for so long you are bound to feel flat afterwards. So look for your next race to give you something to look forward to.

And do go to the running club, I'm sure people will be really friendly, and as Chris says you will have an instant conversation-starter.

I'll make an effort to go too. I have a complication in that my daughter goes to the Juniors' session, which is immediately before the adults' one, and I usually take her and another child home afterwards. They are usually exhausted and hungry so I can't make them wait while I have a run. I'll have to look into rejigging arrangements or find out if there are other parents who want to run while the kids run.

Hi all, hope you FLMers aren't feeling too achy! I've decided I do want to do it next year, so fingers crossed for the next round of applications. If I don't get into the London one then may look at something more local. It's weird though, I haven't told anyone other than you lot that I want to do it - I have mentioned it to people in the past and not really been met with a positive response, dunno if they think I'd be pushing myself too hard or what...?

    Hellooo.. yep just replied! :)

Can't figure out why people are so negative about the marathon, even my friend who's done a lot of running and did a few half-marathons could only point out the negatives when I mentioned it - I know it's going to be hard, goes without saying!

Hey my running club friends.... (see me trying to wheedle my way in! what a cheek!)

Have not done any runnig yet but have been excercising so keeping on track... sunday did a 3 mile brisk walk, and on monday night i took the bikes up and me and DD Erin cycled home from brownies, only about 2 miles but it was good as a starter as bike hasn't been out much this year, obviously!

Meeting my running bud tonight for the first of our run a minute/walk a minute sessions.... should be fun!!!!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

Maz Good luck with your running/walking tonight. Im due to go out again tonight for another 10 min run. I want to be able to run the 5k run easily in July. I shall be keeping an eye on your progress as we seem to have started at the same time.

Now all you experienced runners, how do you work out your mileage of the run? any good sites that I can look at and plan my own route?

All this sunny weather certainly gets you in the mood to get out there and run
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....
