Don't feel so bad, was on a massive high last night and had a tad to much to drink :rolleyes: . Felt rotten this morning, me and DH in hysterics trying to get down 4 stairs to the lift, then laughing as we spotted who had run the marathon in the breakfast room.
Then.........we had to tackle the tube. Never known such pain, I ended up turning around and going down the steps backwards, quite literally had no choice :rotfl: Sat on train for 2 hours, fell asleep, woke up to realise we were at our stop and had to leg it off with a heavy bag - we just looked very odd :rotfl:
Came home to a banner from the kids and cards, now crashed out on the settee and intend to go backwards up the stairs to bed shortly.
But, it was all worth it and I even now get emotional about bits that I remember, like seeing friend, people shouting, taking sweets from kids....I could go on and on....
Oh JB you do sound a bit stiff...but hey that will fade over the next couple of days and you will have the most amazing memories of the day.
Im waiting for the people who run the LM website to get back to me about my application...am so annoyed that it timed out and then I couldn't get back in but can't start application again :mad:I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Morning all
Sorry in delay in posting but just back to work today
Well done CJ & JB, what a day both brill times, I have never experienced anything like it, the crowds are awesome; JB your a star , your friend must be very proud;
I took it easy for the first 10 miles but fely very comfortable but didnt push it as I was very wary of my hamstring, but couldnt believe how good I was feeling, hit mile 18 and thought its going to hit me in a mo, got to 20, 21 and still no probs, so checked the watch I was on 3:50 at 22 so knew I could do under 4:30 if I continued at that pace and fortunately I felt stronger and stronger, saw my son and wife at 25 and a half and burst into tears, turned into the Mall and was jumping with joy. Knowing where and when the family were going to be spurred me on and managed to see them 3 times;
Cannot walk properly now, sitting down ok but standing up is a nightmare!
Ive missed the entry for next year am gutted, cant really do a charity place again either but the memories will stay with me forever;

I can't believe that the first 80,000 have already gone. How busy is the site going to be on 21st though. I still haven't had a response about my application and guess i won't now since its closed for time being.
Pania £2100 is quite an average amount wanted by the charities I think. My sister ran for NSPCC and she had to raise £2000.I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Thank you SW and well done! Great time. I think I was on about the same time as you at mile 22. Then ........The wall. Well I assume it was the wall. A real feeling of nausea. I thought I was going to throw up. I slowed right down at this point. I suppose the chest infection prevented me doing much of the Long Run work I would have liked in the final stages. But hey I'm happy - great experience, real buzz. terrific memories, and money for charity. The personal best will come another time.
Well done again SW and JB. Hope there will be even more of us next year.“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0 -
I'm in awe at the lot of you..you are fabulous.Though I couldn't possibly run a marathon..as I am 7 stone overweight..I promise that I will lose weight and run as far as I can on a treadmill at this moment in time I cannot run anywhere...so by this time next year I hope to be able to run some distance but don't know how far!!!0

Making a commitment is half the battle taxi. Take small steps and you will soon see the rewards. If you go out and walk more than you run that will be great. You will find after a few weeks that your walking will reduce and your running increase. That is how most of us started. And we will give you plenty of encouragement here. Keep us informed of your progress. Ask any questions and seek support.“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0
