They certainly are!
I'm seriously considering it for next year, keep thinking 'there's no way I can do that'.. but I've spent a lot of my life saying that about various things, so maybe it's time to stop saying 'can't'!!
It seems a very long way off though, when I've just done five miles fast walk, feel a bit sleepy and have come home and eaten everything I can get my hands on:rotfl:

Virtually nothing in it!
Wow that is impressive stuff.
Well done to everyone who took part from here! you are amazing,
I was looking at the coverage - I love watching it, but this year seemed really emotional. People do incrediable things.
I was almost tempted to run it myself, but I am doing the 5km race for life and that is freaking me out enough! but I am tempted.
xxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
well done, excellent results - hope you had fun in between the hard work!

Well done JB and SW. Hope you have had as good a day as I have. JB we were so close together. I am sorry that we did not identify each other. Helloooooooooooo:j :j :j :j
3 glasses of champagne and a hot bath and I'm here :j :j :j
To those who are thinking about doing it next year, just DO IT. It is the most satisfying, emotional, enjoyable and proudest thing I have ever ever done.
It is not easy and I had a nightmare (predictably  ) - was doing really well after my initial jitters and then at mile 14, right foot slipped on a half full water bottle, leg went from under me, fell to the side, hit my head on the barrier and knocked my left knee and was trod on  :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Dh ran on completely oblivious to my debacle and a very young attractive hunk like creature carted me off the St John Ambulance where I had ankle and knee strapped up so both legs injured. Downed ibroprofen. Medics were brilliant, discussed whether I should continue as it is obvious expecially now I've sprained my knee at least.
I have been vague about personal details on here but for now sod it, my best friend was told last week her chemo isn't working and she has 6-9 months to live. She was waiting for me with other friends at 23 miles, if she can fight this battle I emotionally decided I would run/walk/crawl, but come hell or high water I was finishing. I found her at mile 23, with a fantastic and well needed hug, tears and on I went to the end. I was so so emotional at the end a lovely marshall gave me a huge hug
The best thing I did was put my name on my vest as the people are outstanding, shouting, encouraging and just so damn nice.
I found DH, came back to find friends waiting with champagne and off for tea in a bit.
I loved it, it hurt like hell, I cried a lot for many reasons (even called my other best friend in tears at mile 18 for her to egg me on) and I have done my darling brave friend proud and that is all that matters.
Thank you for all your support, it means so much. I have already entered online for next year I loved it that much, the pain is so worth it, so if you're thinking about it DO IT! You don't have to run, you can hop, skip, jump, crawl.
Well done SW and Chris - we were so close! SW you're an absolute star. Hugest respect to the both of youLong haulers supporters DFW #109NR Loan #1 - £2951.18 Nov 08/0 -
Yes I really hope to see you there next year. I know how disappointed you must have been for missing this year. One consolation though is that you did not have to endure the wall this afternoon at mile 20 or so
