Hi Sally, I sometimes use this http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/exercise/walking/route-map.htm or just a good old fashioned paper map

            Hi Sally, try www.mapmyrun.co.uk
Seaxwyn! That is a fabby site. I've just worked out a new route in my workplace town!
Thanks!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Well, I've just contacted the charity that I want to fundraise for if I do next year's marathon - see if they get back to me before the next phase of entries opens. Fingers crossed!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Hi all and congratulations to our marathon runners! You lot are fantastic.
I hardly dare mention my own feeble efforts on here but I've started running again. I haven't run since December, so I don't know how long it will take me to get back to fitness. I'm going to enter a 1-mile Fun Run on 4 May as a start and will look for something a little longer in the summer.
I've joined the local Running Club but so far have been too shy to actually go along to their sessions. I must get over that stupid block. They do 'mixed ability runs' on Thursday night but I'm scared I'll be too slow for even the slowest group.
Sea, I joined my local running club almost 2 years ago and whilst I'm not as slow as I used to be, I'm still one of the slower ones but I don't care. I'm making improvements all the time and use the ones ahead of me as an incentive to keep moving.
Go along on Thursday. You'll be pleasantly surprised

Can't figure out why people are so negative about the marathon, even my friend who's done a lot of running and did a few half-marathons could only point out the negatives when I mentioned it - I know it's going to be hard, goes without saying!
You will find that when people see you are serious they will be more positive and supportive. I dont suppose I got an overwhelming positive response when I first announced I was going to run a marathon, but that changed when they saw I was putting in the 15 mile long runs on cold January / February Sunday mornings, sticking to training and lifestyle plans and raising money for charity.

Completely agree Chris, so many people looked at me like I'm mad when I said initially I was doing it, but since I have run on Sunday so many people have shown me so much respect. People at DS's nursery have stopped to congratulate me and friends have rung up to hear the story - really am starting to bore everyone now.................Long haulers supporters DFW #109NR Loan #1 - £2951.18 Nov 08/0

Oh yes we all become Marathon bores. But it so fantastic though isn't it“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0 -
Did my 10 min run last night, I know it doesn't seem much at the moment but distance wise its 1.1 miles. I have to say im sticking to the 6 week training plan I found for doing a 5k race and then I can build on that once I can run the 5k. Maz how was your walk/jog last night?I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

That is the way to do it. Well done. Build on that at your own pace and I can see you doing well“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0
