Grace my view comig from being a very unfit weeble is just go slowly and increase gradually. Will help get more weight off but I find when I run I get really hungry - anyone got advice for that?
RS would t be worth you getting a phisio referra and having a massage to ease your back? Makes a huge difference....

I have got a lodger (been very skint recently) so have just been able to pay for the Royal Parks half marathon. It's not til Oct which is partly why I've been lured into signing up. I am nowhere near fit enough at the moment but I hope this will spur me on to keep up with training.

How are pepys doing? Can someone explain the time thing to me as baffed! Ie what does 9-30 pace mean?!! Feel I can ask you lot but feel a bit of a tit when I ask on any serious running sites!! Getting excited/nervous for you with the marathon - how are you all feeling? BA would it be worth taking echanacia to keep away the nasties if youre worried about catching something? Feel very proud of you all and us collectively as we fight the flab ad battle with intertia!

9-30 pace means running at a pace of 9 minutes and 30 seconds per mile ISOM. Dont feel embarrassed about asking. We all tend to drift into jargon now and again and if you dont know you dont know.

I did an hours run earlier. Did not worry about the time or the distance on this occasion to be honest. Good run though and much more enjoyable than earlier in the week with the high winds

Oh brrrrrrrr.... :o Did ten miles walk this morning, really cold and wet, and I was tormented by the smell of cooked breakfasts most of the way!! Ended up wearing every bit of clothing I could find just to keep warm enough. Still it went OK - took me 3 and a half hours - my back seems to be behaving, just have one achy knee! Think I could do with getting back into the gym and building up my general strength a bit - trying to decide between using the one at work (free but very basic) or if I can justify £22 a month for local council one meaning I could use nice newly done-up gym, as well as classes, swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi... anyway the most urgent thing that I have to spend some money on is new trainers, really badly needed so that will be this weekend's mission.

Hope everyone is doing well x
