That is good news SW. Hope that you have a speedy recovery, I know that there is nothing more frustrating than injury or illness. Keep us updated

Hi all, not checked in for a while - finally got out for a couple of miles run last night, although I'm concentrating on the 'power walking' for the Moonwalk - 4 months to go! Being a little cheeky here, if any of you would like to sponsor me for it, I've got my website set up now - don't want to post it on the forum so drop my a PM if you'd like to (only if you can really afford it though, we are DFWs after all ;))

Should get back into the gym and on the treadmill next week, and am planning on signing up for a Race for Life 5K and another 10K in April/ May.

Hope you're all doing well :j xx

  • Hi all

    Hows the marathon training going

I managed 13 miles yesterday with my foot getting better, running buddies are up to 20 so was a bit gutted, but for once I was sensible and turned back so I didnt mess my foot up again. Felt it but iced it and it feels a lot better this morning, still got a lot of pain there so hopefully it is on the mend with the recovery seeming to be quicker

  • How's everyone doing? Since the weather's been nice I've got a bit of renewed enthusiasm here - done two 4 mile walks and a 3 mile jog/ run during the week. My marathon walking training plan says I should be doing 8 miles today so I've got my route mapped out, it's a lovely crisp bright morning (bit frosty though), and once breakfast has been digested a bit I'm off out there - wish me luck!!

Wooo... that was great!! Such a lovely day, discovered all sorts of bits of town I hadn't seen before, some beautiful (and some not so! :rotfl:). My thighs are solid and my feet are achy but feel sooooo good!!!

It's marathon length so however long 26 miles takes! 8 miles took me 3 hours this morning, so it could be a long time!! :rotfl: Hopefully I'll be much fitter by then though.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling up to doing much at the mo, but make sure you let yourself get better and don't rush back into it. x

  • Hi all

Running is going brill at the moment, no injuries and my week was like this

    Last Sunday - 18miles in 2:49
    Monday - 6 miles
    Tuesday - Rest
    Wednesday - 10.5 miles in :1;34
    Thursday -today - rest
Friday - supposed to run but might rest as Sunday is 20 miles

Was feeling on top of the world when I got home and then got a phone call from our rugby chairman, mate who I have known for 7 years was killed in a roadside bomb in Afghanistan yesterday.

    Puts everything into perspective
