Well done SW - I am sooooooooo jealous!!!
I have applied for a few places but they won't let me know until I hear back from the main ballot - so I wait on. Well done you though :j
Ok, maybe I may pop to the corner shop and look for a wispa now - if I eat enough I could look like a pregnant lady instead :rotfl:0 -
It is a delight to be out running on a day like this. To observe the changing of the seasons on a bright and sunny late October Sunday Morning. Noticing the autumnal hues of the fallen leaves and listening to their crunch underfoot.
I ran a good 5 or 6 miles carving out a new route, which I will certainly do again.
Whilst running I reflected upon the achievements of the England Rugby team.
They started the tournament six weeks ago with no-one believing in them.
They did not even believe in themselves.
They started to work on their self belief, they worked on some of the tiny things. Quickly they began to see some small results. Others started to believe in them, resulting in more self belief and even greater results to finish a very creditable second place after starting as 50/1 outsiders.
What would happen if we all started to believe in ourselves and our potential?
And then started to work on some of those tiny things which could make all the difference? What would happen if others began to see our new level of self-belief and started to believe in us?
Am I talking about running?
Well Yes - but more importantly I am also talking about life.

Sounds like you are working hard Southwester. Keep it up and well done.
Did 4-5 miles this morning and it went well.
I have put in my application for a Gold Bond London Marathon place with Macmillan.“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0 -
Ooh that was deep for a Sunday morning cnoelj
You may be right though.. I do hope so!
On the running front I've not been doing much but I have been walking at least five miles a day. Have agreed with a friend to do the Moonwalk and the Great North Run next year so that's something to aim for, especially as I don't want to let her down now I've agreed to it!
Need to give myself a big kickstart in the next couple of weeks - I'm really struggling with the onset of winter, dark mornings etc - all I want to do is sleep! Hoping that some more exercise will make me feel better, but if anyone's got any tips on how to feel energetic in the winter months, let me know.....Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
The best motivator for me is to have a series of goals in mind.
If you can find a race in the next month or so - perhaps a 10k and set yourself a challanging but realistic time.
If you cant face the cold street this time of year it may be worth thinking of incorporating plenty of indoor exercise into your schedule. Swimming or the Gym etc. As this becomes more of a habit and you increase your energy levels you will probably find that you are more motivated to hit the road“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0 -
A good run yesterday and another today. About 10k each.
As I am intending to run the London Marathon in April, now is the time to step up a gear and get some consistency into the training.
No really long runs yet. That will come just after Chritmas. I am going to increase my weekly milage though. I am off work for the next two weeks so it a good time to get going.
How is everyone else doing?“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0 -
