  • Hi SW - I am here really :) So busy with work at the moment I hardly get to post on here. Also I felt I needed some time away as me spending all night on DFW was not condusive to a good marriage

Sorry to hear you are injured, you're best to take it easy until you know what the problem is - let us know....

I am still running although it is so much harder at the minute. I get home late, get kids sorted out and it's dark and raining  Currently using some guest passes from a friend and going to the gym and working on the treadmill and the cross trainer as well as getting out once a week at the weekend - when I can see ahead of me  Have entered a pretty hilly 10 miler which is in a few weeks, am in the Bath half marathon, done endless applications for the London Marathon so my inspiration is still there.

Glad to read your posts about your wedding anniversary as well :T
  • Hiya Pania, know what you mean about running in the rain, its great, i like running in wind too, lets you know you're alive.

The Santa Dash is great fun, the people in Liverpool really come out to cheer you on, and the sight of seeing 5000 Santas shopping in the city centre after the event is geat fun.

Last year myself and my friends did the run and then went to BHS for a brekkie..... the woman behind the counter looked at me leaned over the counter looked at the 4,999 other santas who'd had the same idea and shouted to the woman in the kitchen to put more sausage and bacon on. Totally sureal but brilliant!

  • Hi everyone & welcome stuntman!

SW, afraid I don't have any advice but you have my sympathy, that sounds sore :(

I've still been walking walking walking with a little bit of running thrown in, got a bit of a niggly pain in my knee at the moment but it always seems to ease off once I've been moving for a while so maybe I need to warm up more. BA, it is hard to get going at this time of year isn't it? I'm keeping going with the motivation of the Moonwalk next year and the fact that walking to/ from work is saving me a fortune in bus fares! :o

The Santa Dash sounds great fun. One of my workmates told me about a run round here in a few weeks where they provide you with reindeer antlers to wear... now that is tempting! :D

  • Hello honey - I'm fine - I sent you a PM :)

Have admittedly tried to step away from the board a bit as I felt I was becoming a little bit obsessional and spending too much time on it at work and at home, and it was making me get so behind. But then I went on to discover facebook as well  who invented computers???

Think I will start new diary in the new year as yours made me want to get up and do stuff. So far in the last month we have had to have new fridge, car serviced and MOT'd, car insurance, lots of birthdays, and now problems with boiler today  so things are slipping a little. The only thing I am pleased about is that I am all done and wrapped up for xmas, but no doubt some other financial crisis will pop up.

Will try and get on gmail this afternoon when bosses are out xx

Hiya squirrel, be careful with that pain in your knee hon, maybe it's the weather that is making people suffer more aches and pains? Maybe i'd better stay indoors after all! he he.

Love the idea of the reindeer run and santa dash, bet the woman in BHS got the fright of her life with 000's of sweaty santas turning up!!!

(quick DFW moneysaving idea to self, raid fancy dress shops for santa suits...travel to liverpool next weekend... make loads of money!!! YAY!!!)

Just done a quick google and it's not the Reindeer Run (RNLI one) - this is a 5k for a local hospice, who just happen to have decided to give everyone antlers! I should probably get into the habit of wearing assorted things while running, seeing as I'm signed up for the Moonwalk next year :D

London Marathon still a target though so should be OK
