I've always had my own books listed as well as my 'stock' and on Wednesday I sold an old favourite of mine. I attached a personal note to it explaining about a certain chapter and why it was a gift and I've just had the most charming email back , quite chatty and very pleasant explaining that this was a very rare book and this was the only copy that she had ever seen and that she'll take care of it for me.

    Isn't that lovely...

It was a shame to let it go but I am collapsing under the weight of books I've kept as they have memories and I really need to sort my life and work space out a bit.

  • Congratulations on the sales jo_b. What a shame about the duplicate sale for the one book though.

I've been moaning non-stop about having no sales on GreenMet for months now. And blow me I sold one this afternoon:j . I had to pop out but managed to parcel it up and get to the Post Office just in time to catch the last collection. I logged on as soon as I got home to say I'd posted it and there were 2 more GreenMet 'sold' emails waiting for me. I just can't believe it:rotfl:

I expect buyers were waiting until the postal strike was well and truly over before buying books and maybe it will be all systems go again.

Lets hope all the Amazon sellers will have a bumper weekend too.

    Imp.

I've managed to sell the same book twice within the space of a week. :o

Today's sale was through Greenmetropolis - second sale in two days! Shame I sold the book on Amazon already

If anybody has got a copy lying around there's a buyer waiting on Greenmet! ;)
Lucky it was that way round as it's easy to cancel orders on greenmet, if you do that on amazon you can be open to getting bad feedback as a result!

  • Just wondering if anyone can help me pls?

I bought a CD at the car boot sale and tried to list on Amazon but I cant find the title of the CD on the CD itself!! (I know this sounds daft!!)

Its by a group called MOGUL and has the following songs on it:
    Learner Lover
    Limb by Limb
    Roses
    Somebody
    Rules
    Try
    Front
    Play Away
    FAded
    Wrap around.

Can anyoen help? Or can anyone point me in the direction of a web site that would help?

    Thanks

All I could find is they're an up and coming band!

Their webpage doesn't seem to be working at the mo!

Sorry I can't be more help, might be better listing it on eBay as I doubt Amazon have them in their catalogue yet.

Following on from the saga of the neg feedback for the delay of a book sent during the postal strike, I was overjoyed yesterday to see my ratings had returned to 100% and there was no sign of the neg score!

However, this morning it has returned. I am pressuming the woman removed it and then changed her mind! How strange!

It has forced me to make a decision about selling on Amazon. I really enjoy it overall, but this sort of thing really irritates me. All of this hassle to make a small profit! As my listings come to an end, I am taking the opportunity to review what profit I am going to make and sending any that won't make me a decent profit to the charity shop / freecycle (beware any freecyclers getting any books from me intending to sell!!).

If I end up with only a handful of more expensive books, so be it. At least then any hassle I get will be worth it against the profit I've made. Why is it that the less someone pays for a book, the more the pain in the a**e they are!

Hi, I'm new to selling on amazon and need expert advice!
I sold an item, posted it immediately. I've received a request for a full refund from the buyer, they haven't said there is a problem (item was new and checked prior to postage) just that they want a full refund including postage. Where do I stand, I realise I have to refund the items cost but do I have to refund the postage and be out of pocket when I am not at fault?
Also if I refund through Amazon will they credit their fees?
    Thanks in advance

Donna P, I completely understand your way of thinking. Everytime I sell a book I am thinking "Am I going to get a negative feedback?" though there is no earthly reason why I should. Makes you wonder if its all woth the hassle.

Are they claiming the item hasn't arrived, and they would have to wait at least 15days to claim this, and possibly longer in Liverpool and London due to recent postal strike.

If they had placed the order and cancelled just as it was no longer required they are entitled to a refund, burt onlyafter having returned it in the condition sent, and arguably at their own expense.

If the item is being claimed as not as described, they can expect you to pay return postage and if they claim this to amazon, they could get a refund and get to keep the item too, unless you can either come to an agrement or prove it is an attempt to defraud!

If you are not at fault, they can return it, and you can charge a 'restocking' fee as well as original postage costs, though be aware that this is likely to earn you a negative feedback!

New rules coming into force on Amazon state all sellers will have to give a 30day return policy! (think I'm just going to sell books that are so big they couldn't possibly be read in a month!)
