I sold a book yesterday, and emailed the customer to make sure they understood about delays due to postal strike but that I was posting today in good faith. He was a Rev so that should be ok..... ja think?:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

I was taking orders as normal over the last week and emailing customers to advise of delays due to the strike and offering a refund if they wished to cancel, the only repsonses were from a french customer who was perfectly understanding, and a Kiwi, who I suppose must be used to being patient getting books from half-way around the world! All in all though, orders were about 60% down on a normal week!Do You Twitter?

We wanted to draw your attention to the additional strike action that will disrupt Royal Mail services on Monday 15th October - Friday 19th October.
The only day the collection staff are participating in strikes is 03:00 Tuesday 16th October until 03:00 Wednesday 17th October. Royal Mail Group has put in place additional resource and contingencies that should prevent a notable disruption to collections.
No items will be delivered on Tuesday the 16th October. Regular postal delivery should occur on all other days during week commencing 15th October.
Members who are trading around the time of the strike should bear in mind that payments and items being sent by post are likely to be delayed. If you think that the payment or item you are sending will be affected by the strike, it is advisable to inform the person you are trading with. If you are waiting for payment or delivery of an item, please be patient.
Further information on how postal services will be disrupted is available via the Royal Mail website

I just want to have a little rant.
I set my holiday settings for when I went away. I started my holiday settings a few days earlier as I know they can take a while to kick in.
When I returned last week I had had 4 sales all about 3/4 days before I came back and 11 days into me activating the holiday settings! I hadn't even ended my holiday settings!
Why oh why did it happen! Its lucky they were all understanding buyers.
Rant is over, thank you guys
PS. Sales going well at mo! :beer:0 -
Had two sales on Friday which was lovely. One for £10 and the second for £18.99, both had been listed for 3weeks so nice to shift them! Still have to shift through a few more before I can justify buying some more in!DEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Oh well at least it was a 5/5!
My sales have dipped a bit since the end of the strike, I assume all my competitors have taken their holiday settings off. I had my best ever month in the billing period that ended last week..and had already been doing quite well for this months chargeable period.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
