I had a sale today, and I found out yesterday that my local post office will soon be closing forever :(

Oh no, another business gone probably taking the owners with it.

Is there another one you can use or are you now stuck?

I'm still not getting any post here but the PO is still taking it without problems which is lucky as I'm back on a selling roll for both Amazon and Greenmet. It's only ebay that's dead for me at the moment book wise.

I lost my PO in the last round, when the dolls' house sized PO in the touristy bit, with room for 2 customers at a time, was supposed to replace it. And now that one is going to close.

The mystery is, that thanks to Ebay, all PO's are 10 times busier than they were a decade ago.

    I agree,wendym.

They say people are turning more to texting and email these days instead of more traditional ways of communicating, and I suppose it's also possible to pay for most things online that we had to visit a Post Office for. But eBay must be a great boon to the Post Office:j . Whenever I'm in there I have to queue behind at least 3 others whatever day/time I go, all with armfulls of parcels to be weighed and posted. I'd put good money on them all being eBay stuff:rotfl:

There's one about half a mile away, which luckily I can walk to. But we have loads of OAPs/disabled people around here, and I imagine they'll be stuck :(

It's in a corner shop, so I'm hoping the shop won't go too. I will not be impressed if I have to walk miles when I run out of milk!

I,m having a bit of a problem listing a couple of books, it,s not the books themselves but Amazon saying I,m doing something against the rules. They quote I,m detracting payments away from Amazon or something like that. I list every book in the same way and got them to relist one of the books, a few weeks later they done the same thing with a new listing, one of a batch of 3 I listed at the same time in the self same way, getting a bit miffed now

could you give an example of the listing comment you use? as amazons filter is possibly seeing a URL where there isn't one, this is quite common and usually got around by not using any full stops in the comments.

an example is " good condition. UK seller" it ignores the space and sees an attempt to include a url. other example to watch for are .no (norway) .in (india) etc etc

  • I am so annoyed with amazon - just had my first ever negative for posting times (what a surprise in the current postal strikes)

I emailed amazon to ask if they were going to consider helping sellers as i suspect there may be alot of these

Surprise Surprise - there answer NO !!
Cannot justify removal of these. My negative was purely about postal times and delay - i think buyers get pleasure out of leaving negatives because they know there is no comeback at all

Amazons feedback system is **** !!!

I dithered about opting for holiday settings to avoid just this problem, but as there are to be more strike days I think it's going to be difficult to judge when to have your list open.

Am regretting the holiday settings - took them off Tuesday and one sale since - and that one I knew would happen as I had sourced the book specially for her. A dire month so far after 2 great ones..... at this rate I will be selling up early!!!
