Sales have picked up again I am pleased to say. Hopefully lots of people will be wanting to give books as Xmas pressies and for themselves. Fingers crossed. I had quite a few sales during the strike which really surprised me. I hope that they all got there.:smileyheaMagenta0

So Magenta has the selling fairy locked away at hers at the moment then.
I think I have been deserted for about 10 days now - could do with a few sales please.
Also I haven't sold anything on Greenmet for 6 weeks.
Ah well, going to collect a box of freecycle books later, here's hoping they are OKAMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0033 come and join us :j make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board0 -
Greenmet has totally dried up for me too, numberthree. No sale for about 2 months now:eek: and loads of really nice titles still listed too. I relied on it for a very regular trickle of sales of run-of-the-mill stuff. Didn't make much profit out of it but there was always some money coming in.
I hope things improve for you soon on all fronts and that there are some fast and profitable sellers in your Freecycle box

Don't admit to that, I was expelled as a user for mentioning it on a previous thread  as it was seen by a fellow recycler in the same area. If I was you I'd delete that post as they have spies everywhere!I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Sold a book on GM yesterday, the first for about 3 months. But as it was quite a heavy hardback I only made a couple of pence profit, and not even that really if I take away the cost of the wrapping etc.:smileyheaMagenta0

I am a moderator on our Freecycle group ( quite large at 3000+ members) and we have a rule whereby traders arent banned (traders = those who ask for or request items they intend to sell) but they do have to declare themselves as traders or that they intend to try making a profit out of the goods so that the people giving can make an informed choice. Not everyone cares whether the people are going to sell the things or not, but some do and we have a strong contingent of people who want to give for the good of the community ( as well as saving landfill) and NOT to line someone else's pockets or provide them with a fast buck. An informed choice helps everyone.
May I suggest you check your group's rules carefully?0 -
Hi Becky and Boston,
Thanks for that, but I'm all above board as it were.AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0033 come and join us :j make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board0 -
I know of an instance recently where someone offered a conservatory furniture set on freecycle which was duly collected by a couple who told them they desperately needed it for their new conservatory.
The offerers were a little surprised to find their furniture for sale for quite a sum at the local boot sale the next day.
