    (I keep losing posts in the ether, is this usual?)

    Regarding the Miriam Stoppard book Woodrocks, if there's a similar book listed, can you not list it stressing in the comments that the ISBN is different, and possibly the original price? I've done this successfully but I'm not sure if it's against Amazon's ever-changing rules ;)

    I'm another that keeps losing my posts..it usually affects the long posts that I have taken ages to type out and spell check and then 'whoof' and they've gone :eek:

    Unfortunately the Amazon t and cs are quite clear about listing something different to the main listing. Listings should only be for the exact same item as the one stated. Whilst people will often list an almost identical book with comments about why it is subtly different, it does make the possibility of a complaint more likely.

    I'm typing this in notepad soolin, then if they disappear again, at least I can try again ;) The lost posts were quite long, and I'd highlighted some sections as I couldn't multi-quote, but whatever I tried took me back to the registration page, I think?

    Apart from needing to shift these books, I need to shift a few pounds lol, so I checked out a thread called "Is anyone else on here trying to lose weight?" and towards the end of it there was at least one user (alba?) who was losing posts too, so we're not alone :confused:

    Thanks for the tip regarding Amazon's T&C's. It's a shame that Amazon don't mail any amendments they make, but I'll put my sale down to luck and not try it again. If I ever get selling again that is ;)

    To FBThree. I've tried play.com. I listed about 10 books as a trial, and after about 2 months I sold one. Nothing to get excited about then lol, but If you're organised and remember to take off any sold books that are listed elsewhere, it's worth a try.

    (Soolin - I was about to post this, looked for the Thanks button - none there, refreshed the page, and it's showing that I need to log in, although I was logged in when I started this post, so I'll try again.)

    Yay, just previewed post and it's ok :D

    Hi folks,
    From browsing this thread I've discovered that you can sell books on play.com as well as amazon. I've had some books on amazon for yonks of time. Is it worth me listing them on play.com at the same time or am I just asking for complications? What are peoples thoughts regarding play.com?

    thx

    Hi,
    I list all my books on play and amazon but I only sell my own books as I finish with them so I havent got loads. I havew had some good sales on play for books which only sell for a low amount on amazon. The only thing youu must remember is to de-list on whichever one you don't sell from otherwise you may sell it again!!!! I havent been that lucky to sell the same book twice! I can go for weeks without even selling one;) .

    I would say go for it but just remember to di-list.

    Just been listing on Greenmet and noticed another change. Before it was possible to give a £1 discount if the age or condition etc of the book merited that. There is now an additional option to give no discount; a £1 discount as before or a 50p discount instead.

    Also it looks like they have revamped the postage rates for larger/ heavier books which will also help.
  • With the new GM and being able to choose out of 10 books though we now have the people selling as new and excellent books at £1 discount and free postage to make a profit of less than 50p after postage... the GM equivalent of 1p books again....
  • Thanks Passion8 & FoxyBaby, Think I'll spend some time listing on Play today then! Though I did end up selling 15 books outside the front door yesterday (ok, good quality paperbacks and bargain price of 50p each), and that was fun checking my greenmetropolis and amazon entries. Adding play in might be interesting!

    Is there any way I can download my open Amazon listings into Excel? I keep fluffing at all the attempts I keep doing! :confused:

    Thanks

    FBThree -

    * Go into you Seller's Account

    * Under "Manage your Inventory" click on "Generate and Download Listings and Fulfillment Reports"

    * Click on "Generate Reports Now"

    * Sign in

    * Choose "Open Listings Reports" ( Yes, include data for all listings currently open.)

    * Scroll down and click on "Preview"

    * Click on "Generate Report Now"

    Wait for a few minutes.....

    * Go back to "Generate and Download Reports"

    * Click on the top one - it will have today's date

    * Save to disk

    Now you can open it in excel.

    Hope this helps.
