    Hi Soolin

I wouldn't leave 3 stars for someone leaving posting that long, with no apology. I would leave a negative.

    Donna

I think what I will do then is dwell on it for a while before I leave feedback.

My Amazon book finally arrived, posted 2nd class Monday, so posted even later than ther seller claimed. I have a couple of questions, I want to leave neutral feedback, I thought 3 stars to reflect the fact that it wasn't posted until I asked about it well over a week after buying. As I used my main selling id to buy if she leaves me feedback as a buyer will that affect my selling score? I think it is a different system, but I thought I would check first. Also is 3 stars 'fair' for someone who waits 2 weeks to post and then only after getting a delivery enquiry? I don't want to be unfair here and a 3 will severely damage her rating as he last 2 feedback were also poor, however I am also mindful of the fact that some of us on here have received 3 stars for incredibly minor points and Amazon do only see this is a neutral.

Hi Soolin, no your buyer feedback has no impact on your selling feedback, only buyers feedback is included in the feedback calculations. I suppose the seller could buy something from you and then leave retaliatory feedback but I don't think it's likely, most sellers are too busy to faff about and play games, I should think! A neutral 3 rating sounds fair if you were otherwise happy with the condition of the book, if not then a neg is probably in order.

I haven't posted here for ages (too busy listing!) but whilst I'm here I'd like to thank AT and Soolin especially and everybody else here for the help and advice, it's been almost a year since I started selling my books thanks to this thread and I've never looked back. Long way to go before I can retire on it mind you, but I'm having so much fun, paying off a few bills and more importantly gained a bit of confidence in myself. Thank you again! x

  • I would leave a 1 out of 5, i always give someone a chance to save the situation, ie offer an apology or partial refund etc if not then i give a negative.

2 weeks is well outside the acceptable, and she could have apologised / sent a partial refund to compensate.

Just off at a slight tangent (i'll slap my hand in a moment) but someone a while back posted that they got rid of some of their surplus stock by putting it on the drive with a note. I'm in the process of clearing a house for someone and have lots of odds and ends, so I decided I would add those to my surplus books and put them in a crate on the drive with a note for people to help themselves. I have added that if anyone would like to make a small donation to the Alzheimers society then just to pst it through my door.

So far I've got rid of lots of those Disney books , are they 'Growler' editions? and have 72p posted through the door. I don't think it is quite enough for the Alzheimers society yet :o but I thought I would just add to the crate each time I work through a pile to list, and then put the crate out all the time I am home and hope for the best. At least it saves me getting a bad back carrying th elot to the charity shop.

  • Why do I worry a lot when suddenly after my last order came through this morning I cant access - and still cant access - my open listings?

I did a similar thing when we were gearing up to moving... got shot of a box of cassettes, a VCR, a TV stand, some minidiscs, a few bits of kitchenware and a bunch of other clutter... quicker and less hassle than freecycling... although hoping for even one thank you from my fellow flat residents was a touch optimistic!
