Sounds a lovely action packed summer (and educational) and hope the marking doesn't bog you down too much.
Sorry if I missed it earlier on in your diary but what degree are you doing? Bet it is a sporty one! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

So 2 days until pay day, marking will begin tomorrow after a lovely relaxed weekend off and an offer from my mum that will add to debt but will be paid back at 0%.
We have a sliding patio door on our porch that has been getting in worse and worse condition over the years, we know it needs replacing but it isn't our priority at the moment. Mum popped round the other day and noticed how bad it was, she told me it needs replacing and after saying I know but I can't afford it at the moment she offered to pay for it so that it was safe.
I really appreciate it as it is unsafe but it will be an expense that needs to be paid back, so will get a quote and pay for the deposit then she will pay for the balance. At least it will be another job done towards getting the house ready for selling.
Off to get my money bags ready for the new budgeting system and count down to pay day.

Pay is in and some planned purchases yesterday including some summer clothes for the kids, I had a 20% discount voucher for Mxtxlxn but very disappointed with the clothes on sale very tacky and loads of winter stuff already. I ended up buying dd gym shorts and vests as we couldn't find anything better, she is very pleased though and is wearing one set during the day and one a night! I hope she is changing them

Lots of cooking done today including red onion tarts and foccacia, also sorted the home insurance and the monthly payment has been cut in half plus cashback and a voucher if it all goes through.
Tomorrow is dh pay day which will be the first into the same account as mine, need to pay the mortgage and just need to move a couple more direct debits from the other account to get sorted. I've moved £100 to the savings account ready for the extra mortgage payment in September, tomorrow I also get paid from my second job and expecting about £38 from cashback. Onepxll is also nearing pay out limit so hopefully won't take long to get the mortgage fund ready.
I haven't got a quote yet about the porch door so need to get on to that but a busy couple of days ahead working although will be good fun as tomorrow I'm back stage at a concert assessing some students and on Saturday I have students doing high ropes and a paintballing session that I will observe. Work is fun sometimes :T Marking is tedious, must get on with this as I want to fully relax on my 2 week break.
Oh and yes seasidegal I am doing a sports degree - Sports Coaching x

All your money plans appear to be on track Chrysalis and how nice that your mum is helping out on the porch front.
Your work over the next few days does sound good fun. Beats the routine of an office any day! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Yay I forgot that I had submitted a nice claim from my second job so able to move another £200 to savings for mortgage, that's it then as the advance from dh pay should cover the rest. All payments now will be to overdraft. I think I'm going to do the little and often approach to see it ticking away nicely.
Qxxdcx has indeed paid some pennies and home insurance tracked too, dh pay is in safely so now I need to print off my direct debits to keep track of what's going out.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, as usual this time of the month is slow for me as just over a fortnight until pay day, some income to come in over the next few weeks including a payout from 1poll which sat at 5p off the threshold for what seemed like an eternity!
Home day today, mainly because it's raining but also because we have to wait in for a new mattress for ds only a cheap one but another little job done. I will finish painting the attic (his bedroom) today and then all that needs to be done is to change the carpet.
Next payday I will get dd room skimmed so we can paint in there, bless her she's lived in a building site for years, 2 years without a door at one stage
Nothing to pay off debt, direct debits are sorted, a bit of a lull really.
Ooh must contact company r.e. front door now the parents are back, will do that right now. XDone, quote to be booked in for early next week.

Hi chrysalis
It sounds like you are moving along nicely with all your house jobs. I need a whole house re plastering really but it will need to wait. I'm very jealous, I would love an attic bedroom.
Have a good day painting. It's good to use rainy days as jabs days. The sun can be very distracting.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Very lucky to have the attic, it was already done when we brought the house and as they used a proper company to do the stairs and conversion it is the only room that is decent. Every other room need the walls skimming and redoing!
Yep love rainy days to water the garden and stop me getting side tracked.Loan from Mum £500/£300

Felt a bit down today with the debt and nothing to throw at it at the moment, anyway as I had no surveys and can't think of anything to sell I decided to go back to the comping boards, you never know what may happen.
I had a think about the overdraft and if I pay it off by Christmas, including the monthly charge I need to throw £210 a month at it I think that could be doable and certainly a motivator. That's £7 per day! I found some change when I cleaned out the tumble dryer today so I will use that as a starter.
