Good morning

Had a great time at the wedding, I didn't end up wearing the new dress as it seemed a bit too short so wore an old one and I'll put the tags on to the other ready to resell.
We did quite well with the drinks and there was a couple who were tasked with looking after the 6 kids (2 mine, 2 theirs and 2 the grooms) they were fabulously frugal by getting a big jug of squash for them all :T.
As we are cash poor we decided to keep hold of all the vouchers, the happy couple are off to Canada as we speak so they won't be bothered about our lack of present and we'll sort it out in due course. Vouchers will therefore be used for food shop until Thursday, meal plan to be done this morning then will have a bit of cash in case I need some top up fuel. Still have a £9 Mr T voucher if we need it.
Thursday will then be the start of immense planning, I mentioned to dh that we need to sit down and check finances every day to begin with so we keep on track.
Feeling surprisingly positive at the mo, 4 days until pay day!

Good evening from a thundery North Wales!
Love a good storm when I'm not in it of course, a mad dash to the car after my final appointment today.
Payday is fast approaching thankfully, had a falling out with dh last night (well he had a strop and I was fine :rotfl:) as he wanted some beer but I said no as I might need the cash in the week. He mumbled something about being 41 years old and still needing to ask for money, I just agreed! He apologised this morning for being a grump.
As much as he is on board with the budgeting he don't half make a fuss, I think I'll start calling family meetings starting with 'you can't eat everything out of the cupboards when it's for packed lunches etc'.
DH gets paid on Friday so I can sort out the car insurance, have already looked at the quotes and will be half the cost of my current provider and hopefully through qu**co.
Can't wait to get cracking!

It's great that you're feeling so positive and I like the way you're keeping Mr C under control! Quite a few of the debt gurus recommend a monthly family money meeting to keep everyone on track so perhaps you're nearer to the mark than you think! I of course just have myself to argue with!

Hi hi, well a good day all round.
Learned on my course today that Anthony Hopkins wrote a waltz many years ago and we listened to it in class, you should be able to follow link below.

In other good news my expenses have been authorised by the first Manager and now need to go through the next one so a little closer to payment albeit still late, submitted this months as I know I don't have any long journeys for the rest of the month.
I have to go to Cardiff for a meeting on 10th June and asked my Manager if I could stay over the night before and she said 'no problem book it through the travel office and get them to book your train tickets too' :T great so I won't have to pay out for that in advance and wait ages to get it back.
In the final good news, I had forgotten about the mileage payment due from my second job and this has been paid today so as there's only tomorrow to get through and may only need a little bit of fuel before Thursday, I have transferred this and a fb sale to savings.
£52.50/£1000
So my savings pot starts and plenty more to add at the end of the week.
Feeling chuffed!

Payday today and for once we have not splurged on day one, I have paid childcare fees to be up to date with them, brought the budgeted weekly fuel allowance and withdrawn the budgeted weekly amounts for food, my/dh pocket money and family spends for the week.
DH requested some items from the shop so they were duely purchased with his money and his change given back
.
Hubby gets paid tomorrow and this is where the savings pot will increase, I also need to:
* change car insurance provider
* pay for breakdown cover
Hopefully I get paid from my second job tomorrow too so I will be able to transfer this if it comes in.
I still need to put that dress back on fb page and see if there's anything to sell. A good start :T

Hi Chrysalis
Thought it was about time I popped over to say hello.
Well done on not getting carried away on payday. We never have that urge as hubby is paid weekly so its never a huge amount landing in our account all at once.
Sounds like you do FUN money too. Its really go as it gives you a boundary but still allows abit of fun. Have to watch hubby though as he sometimes gets paid bits of cash and craftily leaves them in his wallet :mad:.
Keep going hun. Your doing great xxx0 -

A Good Morning to you all, I've been busy sorting out my car insurance and managed to get the cover and breakdown cover for half the price of my renewal quote, plus cashback!
Therefore saved quite a bit of money, just need to cancel the renewal notice for my existing provider and get my no claims history from them.
Home insurance due in a couple of months so will be scouting out the best deals then.
I might have a look at my bills account and see if there will be enough to get a dishwasher, through the usual techniques of course, it would make my life so much easier with one.
