  • Hi all long time no post, seem to be going backwards and forwards at the minute so a bit of a pain over the last few weeks here is a snap shot of what's been happening:

    * Dd window has been fitted and looks great, we've had quotes for the walls to be skimmed both coming in around the £300 mark but will have to wait due to other factors below.

    * All payments on debt on going but haven't been able to knock down anything significantly.

    * This is the biggest change, dh salary payment date is changing from 25th to 1st which means that he won't receive a wage in September but it will work itself out. The problem is that we still have to make a mortgage payment in September otherwise we will go into arrears and it will go on our credit file. So £620 to find, his work though have said we can request an advance of wages if we need it so this has been applied for. We usually pay the month's payment on the 25th so late on, if we can pay September then go to the 1st for October obviously this will set us back in line and be better for interest too.

    * As we have to also change direct debit details we thought it would be a good opportunity to move his pay and all the bills back to one account, you can guess what I have been doing even though it's hubby that get an extra day of leave as the company recognised that these things are a pain to sort out! :rotfl:

Therefore in recognition that the other bank might not be very happy about no payments going in and the fact we still have an overdraft, I need to pay this back asap.

New target then is the overdraft of £900 plus the extra part of the mortgage payment. I have sat down with dh and we have gone through all our expenses again to really stick to the budgeted amounts and move over money that hasn't been spent from food and fuel budgets, and childcare over the summer, to get this sorted.

Super scrimpy summer coming up :D

  • Hi all,

Feel a bit frustrated but in a good way as itching to get some movement going, pay day for me is on 22nd so have 6 days to go if you count the actual day have very limited funds but we're stretching out food and fuel as much as possible.

I know this is a shock but my expenses were paid on time this month, probably due to the amount of people that will be on summer hols soon! Still all good for me.

Everything is ready for pay coming in, and plans made for over the summer, kids are going to have themed weeks which will consist of an information finding day, a creative day and a day trip all relating to the theme. We have agreed on the following so far; castles, animals, aeroplanes and space with visits planned to Caernarfon Castle, parents taking kids to Knowsley Safari Park, Caernarfon Airport and Jodrell Bank. I am running some athletics days for the local authorities over the summer so these will be factored in too.

Unfortunately not all fun as I have mountains of marking to do over the holiday and I want to try and get prepared as much as possible for the last year of my degree. Roll on Christmas for a proper break :rotfl:

Feeling very motivated, just need to tick off the next few day.

You're very organised with the summer holidays. I have a few days planned for the little one. I'm planning to take him to RAF Cosford again as he loves to look at the planes. It's a fantastic museum and free entry.

I love Caernarfon Airport. We always go when we go to Wales. I like that you gat get in the planes at the museum and it's never too busy. The last time we went Alan Sugar got out of a private plane. He looked really small.

I think the rest of the time will be spent trying to get him to ride his bike. I don't think his legs will ever go round and round to pedal it.

Get on with that marking and you can have a nice break.
