  • Good morning all, so many things to deal with since going back to work after the summer and now trying to chill out over half term.

    Boss -had to put in a formal complaint over her attitude, hopefully sorted had lots of backing from senior managers.

    Money - terrible I feel like money is just slipping out of my fingers constantly and back to square one. Dd birthday in a couple of weeks so need to pay for party food and present. I need to sit down and work out how to manage the budget better and really hammer away at the debt, yes I know I've said it a hundred times! I haven't even started thinking about Xmas and there's only 1 pay packet left.

    Good things - cancelled Sky, it finishes tomorrow so will be a good reduction. Family happy and healthy that the main thing.

    Plan

    * Re-sort budget
    * Plan debt payments properly
    * Discuss xmas with dh
    * Put in my time sheet for second job and fuel claim for work
    * Look for anything that can be sold

    I will beat this debt!

    Nice to see you back chrysalis. Sorry to hear that things haven't been going to plan moneywise. It so difficult at times isn't it? I'm sure you will get it all sorted.

    Well done on dealing with the boss. I hope it gets sorted soon for you.

  • Thanks both x

    Well a good start yesterday I submitted ny two pay claims to make sure they get processed on time.

    Some money has cleared for payment on Qu**co so paid some to my mum and some to overdraft, I also went on a snowball calculator for the first time (shocked as to why I've never used this) and it have me a predicted date of April 2017 just on basic payments that is not going to happen and makes me more determined to get rid of it!

    A few items up on selling sites, I hope they make a few pennies.

    Today's list:
    * Write a plan to pay off first debt including all additional income.
    * Research things to make for xmas, I couldn't chat with dh last night as he wasn't feeling well.
    * Look at party favours for dd, any ideas for a 10 year old tomboy!

  • Whens DDs birthday Chrysalis? My DD is 8 next week, just don't know where the time has gone! Is she having a theme to her party? I generally just fill those see through cones with sweets, no point in buying tat as its a waste of money and ends up in the bin!! xx

  • Dd's birthday is on 8th, but her party is on 9th as I booked an athletics day on her birthday, at least I'll be earning some money. She is going to the climbing wall, when she was 8 she had a party there and we did fab outdoorsy bags with a small torch, water bottle and other bits and pieces that were good quality. She didn't have a party last year and this year I just don't have the time, money or energy to think about those things I'd just rather they enjoy the climbing.

    Today I have taken the kids out on an mse trip, went to leisure centre to drop off leaflets for athletics day then went to the park in the grounds, then we went to a stationers to get some things for my own athletics club and will get the money back, next door is a pet shop so we went in to look at the animals, and lastly we went to a big toy shop to get a catalouge for them to do their xmas wish list! Grand total £0 :D Oh I know how to spoil them :rotfl:

    I've decided to make little aprons for my nieces, pot pouri to put in xmas boxes and chocolate drops with different toppings too. Last year I made some fab bunting which I will make for ourselves this time, if I have time. I made sugar scrub last year too but would like to do something different.

    I want to source some cheap xmas boxes for each person, again I did hampers last year so would like to be different.

    Nothing else moneywise to report, see you later.

    Afternoon Chrysalis

    That sounds like a lovely birthday treat, something different. Mine DS is only 3 so I haven't got to the stage where he wants fancy parties yet. Its something I dread though.

    The Christmas gift makes sound lovely. I'm still pondering I'm afraid unsure what too make. Well done on being organised.

    Could you possibly make some boxes from card. I'm sure I saw some lovely ideas on p1nterest recently.

    First apron made, decided to keep it simple and just do the bottom part I'll get my nieces some little cooking things too.

    I'm off to my friends tomorrow in Aylesbury for a couple of days, will be nice to see her as I haven't seen her since she got married last year. I don't think dh is too chuffed about having the kids all weekend but tough I don't have much time to myself and he goes off on his camping trips. I will thoroughly enjoy myself despite his moodiness this evening!

    Kids are getting used to no Sky, they are watching dvd's and we've discovered Autumnwatch which is brilliant.
