This is what is known as a knock on effect you are due compensation. Read Vaubans guide and get your letter before action written. All in the guide.0

Was delayed for over 24 hours on a Virgin flight from Havana due to weather conditions at Heathrow (snow) where the plane due to collect us was stuck. Hadn’t considered flight delay compensation but am now advised that this might apply as the weather conditions in Havana were perfectly ok for taking off and that it’s the airline’s responsibility to ensure there’s a substitute plane available.
Has anyone else claimed under similar circumstances or could provide some guidance?
Pretty sure this has been discussed on the dedicated 'Virgin' thread so have a read through the last few months posts there.
Please post anything further on that thread in future, it helps to keep the forum tidy.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Is there any way of finding out if anybody has won a claim against BA 9 from Heathrow to Bangkok on the 11/12/2012? I submitted a claim but received a letter back from BA refusing it. Would like to fight on but not sure where to start.0

If you put the flight number and date into one of the NWNF sites it states
"Our data shows that the airline can claim 'exceptional circumstances' e.g. there was a strike or bad weather conditions. This means they can't be held responsible and can't be forced to pay compensation."
does that match with the information you have been given by the airline?
If you look at flightstats for departures around the same time period from Heathrow, you will see a sea of red "delayed'...there were a significant number of delays and cancellations on that date which does point to a problem affecting all airlines0 -
Made my complaint to Thomson on 5th February 2015 about a 4.05 delay from the Maldives, received a letter on the 10th asking for relevant docs which i sent, no reply sent all again in april with 10th may deadline again no reply, in june made contact via Facebook and found out the cheque had been sent in March but to incorrect address, 20th june emailed docs to prove change of address got automated reply 28 days. I still have not received a reply or the cheque. I have now written to the directors and the CAA.0

I attempted to claim for a delayed flight to Gran Canaria in Dec. 2011 from Ryanair and they have been fobbing me off saying the delay was not their fault. Following the recent European Court of Justice ruling I sent a further letter to them on 24th Sept. and 2 days later received a reply saying they would be sending me £610-80 in compensation! so victory at last!
I have to say they make it very difficult to contact them - it took a lot of ferreting on the website to find the correct form to send them - then in their reply they gave me a link to click to track the progress of the claim, but then on clicking it there was a message saying that my Flight Booking Ref. was invalid (even though it was the one used in all previous documentation) so I couldn't get any further.
However it was definitely worth all the hassle!0 -
Hi,
I am new in the forum. I read the guide and I still have some questions. Hopefully you will help me to clarify them.
I will make a claim to SAS airline because the second leg of my two leg flight was cancelled. I know the compensation amount that you can claim is based on the arrival delay and distance.
We bought an SAS ticket from Athens (ATH) to London (LHR) with a 2hs 40 minutes connection in Copenhagen (CPH). We were supposed to arrive to London at 19:30 on Sunday.
The first leg of our flight (ATH-CPH) arrived 80 min late to CPH, but we were still fine. The second leg of our flight (CPH-LHR) was cancelled 30 minutes before departure. SAS gave us hotel accommodation, vouchers (taxi, dinner and breakfast) and tickets for a flight departing the following day. It was a CPH-LHR flight with a very short stop of 45 minutes in Oslo (OSL). It was a two leg flight again. We finally arrived to London at 9:08 am on Monday.
The arrival delay was more than 13 hs.
How should I calculate the distance? Should I consider ATH-CPH-OSL-LHR (3799 km), ATH-CPH-LHR (3118 km), CPH-OSL-LHR (1659 km) or CPH-LHR (978 km)?
Should I consider my case a flight delay or flight cancellation?
Thanks!

Hi, Sorry I missed that detail. SAS said the flight was cancelled due to technical problems.0
