I had a delayed flight on Emirates in Feb 2008. I have just used your template to register a claim and have had a reply to say that as it is over 6 years they cannot entertain it. Is this correct?0

You have no legal recourse after 6 years, if you live in England, so they can safely ignore you. Sorry. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

you posted a couple of times about this a month ago and were on both occasions advised that 6 years was the limit so it should not have been a surprise really

Yes! It is very true. You can't claim for delayed compensation which was delayed 6 years ago.0 -
I'm in a muddle as to what to do next - Thomson have twice declined my request for compensation (flight 3 years ago was over 3 hrs late) stating delay was due to technical problems - starter motor trouble - where do I go from here now ? Is it easier to get a solicitor to take up the case and if so which companies do this on a no-win no-fee basis ? Or is it straight forward to do myself - is it the CAA that I go to next ? Help !!0

Monkey - do not go to the CAA! Your next port of call is court action either under your own steam or using a NWNF. If NWNF you may wish to consider the firm who represented Messrs Dawson & Huzar in the recent appeal cases against Thomson & Jet2.0 -

slightly incorrect, the regulations state you can claim back to Feb 2005 however airlines know that should they reject the claim then you need to go to court which has a time limit of 6 years in England and Wales, 5 years in Scotland but there are countries where they have a longer deadline so a resident of these countries would be able to claim for delays over 6 years0 -
GreenJet.
I have located several pics of a plane with their livery.
Can anyone point me towards a 'flight-log' website where I can trace any flights they actually carried out?
Thank you.start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -

What does mean then? Clearly you can't claim for the compensation that was delayed or cancelled 6 years ago. Being resident of these countries is a different thing.0 -
I have been trying to claim back expenses along with compensation from Thomson, as our flight from Mexico was delayed 17hrs +. I submitted a complaints form within the required time scale but Thomson have delayed their response for around three months and after several phone calls and emails they have finally responded and told me that I have to claim via my travel insurance.
