Olympic Holidays (Small Planet Airline)
Flight number P7443 LGW - LCA (larnaca)
LGW Depature date 22/06/2013 @ 09:40... delayed to 23/06/2013 @ 03:10... delayed to 23/06/2013 @ 04:10

After losing the will last year, I have recently been back in contact with Olympic holidays regarding my claim. I emailed them asking 'who was providing the flight and why it was delayed'.

They responded very quickly to tell me that we were due to fly with GreenJet and that this airline has now ceased operating so I cannot claim (fair enough!).

But........ why did our check-in desk sign and all paperwork state Small Planet? And also, following a scour online, I can't see that GreenJet ever flew any planes!

If there are any plane / airline fanatics reading, I would be most grateful for any information you can share regarding GreenJet Airlines.

I am going back to Olympic to find our why the flight was delayed anyway....1) I am nosy. 2) I am not convinced they are telling me the truth about the airline! (I am hugely cynical!)

How about GreenJet?

Taken from operators reply... "GreenJet, a Greek based airline contracted via Goldcrest Aviation".

I am glad it is not just me that thinks this is more than odd!!

Green Jet seem to have had/had two non operational (?) American registered Airbus planes. Will have look to see what I can find out but as I say sounds suspicious. Might be worth contacting the Greek NEB as unlike UK CAA they seem to be helpful.

Thanks for your help so far 111KAB. From what I can gather from planespotters, the planes were in storage in China from Mar 2013 to Jul 2013. So I can't see how they flew in June 2013!! ?

Ooh, have had a reply from Olympic - it seems they can respond quickly when it is in their interest....

"Hi again ,

Olympic Holidays was advised by its Aviation broker, Meridian (please ignore reference to Gold crest) Aviation on the actual departure date. The reason for the change is as per below i.e. the non-performance by Green Jet Airlines, contracted by Meridian, of the flight on the day in question."

But, and here is my biggest but.... we were always lead to believe we were flying with Small Planet! ??
