I have just written a letter to easyjet re a 4hr 50 min delay coming back from Marrakesh. The template didn't say to include the reason but as the captain kindly told us I thought I would add it-
'The captain on the flight informed us the delay was due to the fact easyjet had only just acquired the plane and had resprayed it which had resulted in it being late leaving Ireland and arriving at LGW (to go onto Marrakech). ':j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -

I bet they claim that it is an unpredictable flight safety shortcoming instead! And hence you cannot have compensation ...
But let us hope they don't mess you about, and simply pay up (with an apology for the disruption as well!).0 -
Hi guys,
Hope somebody may be able to help, in 2011 I went to Las Vegas direct from Manchester- we were due to depart around 12.15 but that was not the case. I recall departing around 1700 but not exactly sure on the time. we were given a free voucher for food and drink etc to use at one of the Frankie and benny restaurants etc. We got to Vegas around 19.30 which should of been around 14.15. I need to find the exact times of flight and arrival for a compensation claim letter. I have checked flight stats website but this site claims that the flight took off and landed on time!!!
Anybody able to assist in where I can find this information? I called Virgin but they were unable to tell me what time it did depart and arrive and could only tell me that it didn't take off as scheduled.
Any help would be greatly received.
Regards
Kyle
p.s sorry for grammar (I was in a rush)0 -
try one of the NWNF sites and put the flight details in there to see whether it comes back with "you have a claim"0

When the CAA refers your claim back to the airline as they think you have a case, but the airline don't want to know and consider the case closed, who do you go to then?0

Hi folks, first time poster so please go easy on me!
I've been pursuing a claim with Thomson Airways for delays on a flight to Croatia back in 2010.
Thomson have, as expected, done everything to avoid paying compensation, but today I received an email from the CAA stating that my claim is valid.
I've just emailed Thomson to prompt them for payment on the basis of this ruling, although I don't expect much joy. My email did carry a threat of court action if they don't settle my claim quickly.
So a few questions:
1. how long should I give them to reply?
2. how much chance is there that they will pay up?
3. has anyone any experience of pursuing a CAA-approved claim through the courts? I live in Scotland so presumably the Scottish Small Claims Court is my next port of call?
Thanks in advance!0 -

1. How long did you give them when you threatened legal action?
2. Without legal action, not great.
3. Sadly "CAA approved" doesn't help much; it carries very little weight in law.

There are some links to recent radio interviews (You and Yours BBC) and Huzar on this Facebook page which may offer some explanations particularly to newbies....

Hi
I am sorry if this is posted in the wrong area as not sure where to post,
We were delayed on a flight with Air Malta 14th July 2008 so only have a two months before the dead line runs out.
We contacted today a no win no fee firm (Bott) who responded to us saying time is too short now and they would not be able to do anything for us. Does any one know of any other no win no fee lawyers who may help.
Thank you for your assistance with this.0
