Have you read anything on this forum about this company or the Regulation and associated case law under which this company purport to recover compensation for a delay of "more than 2 hours"!!!
Thought not. Caveat emptor.
Quite. I have some oil made from extract of the finest snake, Mr. Peterpluto, if you interested in buying?
"claiming4u", whoever they are, don't even say what their fees are, or what they'll do to help you.
Personally, I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole - or someone else's bargepole for that matter. (I'd just write an NBA to BA.) But do let us know how you get on!0 -
I have tried to claim compensation from British Airways for a party of 5 flying to Vienna in July 2007. I wrote to BA over a year ago, but they rejected my claim on the basis that it had been cancelled due to 'a lack of ground handling resources outside BA's control which prevented the aircraft operating as scheduled'. A lot of flights were cancelled on the same day at Heathrow, as a result of very wet weather. We managed to get back from BA the cost of an overnight stay and food. We arrived in Vienna over 28 hours later than scheduled, and lost a day of our stay there, for which we received no compensation.
Is it worth asking them to reopen the claim, or taking it to the CAA? I'd be grateful for some advice.
We also had a delayed flight from Manchester to Pisa, where we were rerouted to Genoa because the pilot couldn't land the plane at Pisa because of the wind coming from a certain direction. We then had a bus journey to Pisa, and arrived at an airport that was closed because it was the middle of the night, and there were no taxis. Do we have a case with this?0 -

July 2007 - OUT OF TIME!
Pisa closure - Weather delay is an extraordinary circumstance. No claim there either.

Many thanks for taking the time to register with the site to tell us about this business. If you do log on again, have a look at the FAQs.
I'm not sure who you will be dealing with. The website says:
"This website is owned and operated by Claiming4u Limited. Registered Office: 40a Bury New Road, Prestwich, Manchester, M25 OLD Company No: 04784408. Claiming4u’s registered address is The Accident and Compensation Shop Ltd, T/a Claiming4u
Claiming 4U is a trading name of Karmen Funding Limited"
So "Claiming4U" is both a trading name of Karmen Funding Limited and also the name that The Accident and Compensation Shop Limited trades under.
If I was using a firm to pursue a claim, I would want one that was regulated by some professional body.0 -

Thanks, Vauban, but I did first write to them at the end of 2012, and their rejection is dated January 2013. Haven't had time till now to get my head around the new regulations. I thought it was late, but not too late.0 -

I'm afraid the clock continues ticking until you actually lodge court papers. If you had done so before July 2013, you might have had a claim.0 -

Do you think we might have had a case even though the flight to Vienna was cancelled as an indirect result of bad weather? Is it not worth following up - it's not impossible to claim after 6 years, is it, even though it's harder? What about referring it to the CAA?0 -

Probably would have had a case due to the long time taken to get you to Vienna, even if the cause was weather. But you have zero chance now. Zilch. Nada. Nowt.0 -
I have been sent a holiday voucher by Thomas Cook in settlement of my flight delay claim! Can I insist on a cash settlement?0
