Hi, Please forgive me if not using correct forum etiquette etc, but first time used! Booked a package holiday through Thomas Cook to Egypt in July 2007 for 3 people which was delayed by 4 hours coming home. I booked by credit card. Just looked at my ticket, (I knew I horded stuff for a reason!) but we travelled with Astreus airlines, who I now believe may not be trading! So my question is, who do I try to claim my refund back from? Thank you

You lose on two counts. First you are out of time (six years), and second the operating airline is bust. So no claim, I'm afraid.
  • I claimed for a15 hour delay on flight ZB564 which was sopposed to leave Mnachester on 11/09/12 at 7.55am.It did not leave until midnight.I have contacted Monarch and they state that it was not an exceptional circumstance. The CAA also received a rejection from Monarch for my claim. The delay was due to the flight being unservicable due to a fuel tank fault that required a third party company to rectify.I have contacted Claims4 you and they are not intereted in pursuing the claim any further unless I pay upfront costs for the small claims court.Does anyone have any advice/

Make a claim yourself or try someone else?

Hi guys just wanna make sure ive got a valid one to argue here but 11/02/2012 me and my partner booked a flight with klm **** departing at 09:15, we ordered the tickets on the travel republic site, when we got there to check in we was told to go to the KLM desk because the flight was overbooked, we was offered a later flight with air france ***** leaving at 15:30, no we was not offered any compensation or refund, we was only given a £20 voucher each to spend in the airport, so im cusrious how I stand on this cause our original flight was ment to leave at 09:15(bhx) and arrive in rome(FCO) at 14:40 but instead we left at 15:30(bhx) and arived in rome(fco) aroung 21:00

someone help please this is all new to me and never knew there was any chance of claiming against this

You were denied boarding and therefore due €250 each. I'm surprised the airline didn't offer compensation there and then, rather than bumping you without.

The FAQs is a good place to start, but really this isn't very complex. Just write to customer services with details of flight (and booking ref if poss) explaining that you were involuntarily denied boarding, and believe you are therefore due compensation under Regulation 262/04.

There's no "extraordinary circumstances" defence for IDB so you shouldn't have a problem.
