Fingers crossed someone can advise!
We flew with Martinair from Amsterdam to Orlando 3 years ago, plane was delayed by about 7 hours (tech fault). Since then I think Martinair are a cargo airline only? Would I still be able to claim and if so where would I find contact info for them?
Or do I claim through KLM?
Many thanks.0 -
My flight with TAM (Brazilian arline) was delayed over 5 hours to get to destination.
After my email to them I've received the following reply:
We (TAM) understand that a flight delay is unpleasant and may affect the planned travel of our customers. TAM Airlines always does it utmost to maintain the scheduled time, however, we must remind that the airline industry is vulnerable to numerous unforeseen situations, such as air traffic congestions, bad weather conditions or aircraft technical problems which may result on a flight delay or cancellation.
Your flight JJ8085 of 09th July departed 31 minutes later than scheduled due to air traffic congestion in London.
Their excuse is doubtful and I would like to go a bit further with this process.
Could anyone help me telling what my next step should be?
Is there a way to check the reason of departure delay? I am almost sure our departure was delayed for more that 31min and I would think airplanes can speed up to make that time up...0 -

Monarch Flight ZB402 on 19 June 2013, from Birmingham to Faro was delayed by 10 hours due to a cracked windscreen. I have submitted a claim, along with 4 others, for compensation.
I spoke to Monarch EU claims on Monday and was told they deal with claims in receipt order and should hear from them by the end of this week. From reading this forum I guess we won't receive anything due to ECs. Is anyone else making a claim for this delay?
What should I do if they reject our claims on the basis of ECs?
We missed a complete day of our holiday, which was only for a few days anyway, so feeling a little peeved at expecting a rejection.
Any information would be appreciated.
We to were on ZB402 on June 19th 2013. We have now had 2 letters from Monarch both rejecting our claim on EC grounds. We are not giving up our next step is the CAA and if that fails the small claims courts. New guidelines say airlines cannot claim technical issues as exceptional circumstances. Delamination of the window must have happened on the aircraft's inbound flight the previous night and therefore Monarch had ample time to replace the aircraft earlier than the 10 hours we waited. Also the flight back from Portugal normally lands around 1pm to fly to somewhere else the same afternoon (normally around 5 Monarch flights on a Wednesday afternoon)and as there were no other significant delays that day one can only assume they found an aircraft to avoid delays to another flight.
If anybody else on that flight has any news on claims it would be good to hear.0 -
I booked a flight in 2009 from Lima to London via Madrid and I was delayed by around 4 hours missing my connecting flight and having to fly the next day back from Madrid. The ticket was booked through and agent and was noted as carrier LAN but the flight was operated by Iberia. Am I able to try and get compensation given the operating airline was Iberia? Or because I bought the ticket through LAN does that mean I am unable to get compensation due to LAN not being EU registered?

My flight provider Iceland Express/Astraeus went into administration and although I paid for tickets with Mastercard they have stated they are not responsible under Section 75 claims.Anybody else had similar issues and what can be done please?
But I will do what you suggest
Thanks Again0 -

I flew from Gatwick to Sharm-el-Sheik in January 2012 on a package trip arranged by Scuba Travel, flying with Monarch. My return flight was delayed by 24 hours due to a mechanical failure in the plane due to return us to the UK. The travel agent attempted to claim compensation for the group on my package trip, but Monarch refused the claim. Instead everyone was referred to their travel insurers for compensation.
I did make a claim from my travel insurer (Columbus) under their terms - this only covered incidental expenses incurred during the delay up to a cap of £20-30 from memory. I incurred greater costs than this in making telephone calls, internet access to arrange for an extended stay for my cat at the cattery and additional parking fees at the airport. My travel insurer did pay out the maximum figure on their policy for these incidental expenses, which did not cover the actual costs incurred.
Am I still able to claim compensation from Monarch now that the situation has been clarified?0 -
Hello everyone,
I am enquring if anyone knows if you can claim flight delay compensation for an infant under the age of 2? We were delayed almost 6 hours and got vouchers for food and drink at the airport, including one for my baby. This seems that see babies as passengers as they gave us a voucher for her, but has anyone claimed compensation for an infant? I am unsure if they (Thomas Cook) will try to get out of paying compensation for an infant.
Any thoughts welcome0
