Compensation for delayed flights Discussion Area

Hi, hope someone can help me. I'm looking to claim for a delay in 2011. Flight details are a Jet2 flight from Dalaman airport on the 22-08-2011. According to flightstats it was delayed in take-off by 3hrs 39mins but gives an estimated arrival time of 11.15pm instead of 8.35pm. In other words less than 3 hours.
As its estimated can anyone suggest where I can confirm the actual arrival time. Can't find anything on Jet2's site. Thanks in advance,

Hi
Please I need some advice regarding how to commence compensation from Arik air. I was delayed for 4.5 hrs due to mechanical fault from the engine
Arik have no postal address to send the letter to. I have finally attached it to an email to them and I am now waiting
Is there any more I should be doing at this stage?
Many thanks

I would really appreciate a bit of help.
Delayed flight information:
Flight number: TOM4689
From: Rhodes - Gatwick (North)
Date: 28 August 2011
I have already written to Thomson (24 October 2012).
I have so far received a standard acknowledgement letter.
I have tried searching for this flight by flight number etc on flightstats. I cannot find this flight at all.
Flight was due to depart Rhodes at 02.55 and arrive at Gatwick at 05.05. Fortunately I have my boarding card which shows flight departure time as 06.45, but this does not prove the time it landed at Gatwick.
I just wanted to try and confirm the length of delay for my own peace of mind.
We were not told officially why the flight was delayed, however from memory there was talk of our plane having to go to Tenerife or Lanzarote as their plane had a problem.0 -

From my previous experience - the departure time shown on the boarding card has always been the original departure time & never any delayed time
Just had a quick look on flightstats and your flight is there - but departed Saturday 27th August 2011, but there are no timing displayed

Thank you for that. I saw the flight on 27th August, however we definitely returned on 28th.
I have the original ticket booklet that shows all the holiday details and flight times. I have rechecked the boarding pass and it definitely shows the flight time as 06.45. Do you think this is unusual?
When we got to Rhodes airport, a Thomson rep jumped on the coach, told us there was a 3 hour delay and then disappeared. I was just trying to check what time we would have landed.0 -
Thanks Centipede.
I wrote to Thomson 24 Oct 2012, claiming 400 euros per passenger. I also sent copies of the holiday guide booklet they send you which confirms all the flight times etc, my boarding pass and also light refreshment voucher that we were issued with showing the date and flight number etc.
Have received a standard 'we're looking into it' letter.
I have been following this thread and it doesn't appear that Thomson have settled any claims yet. I will continue to monitor.
Thanks once again.0 -
I have put three flight delay compensation claims in for flights delayed over 3 hours. So far:
-Jet2.com, seem to be stalling for time sending letters asking for information I've already sent to them
-Ryanair, responded really fast but said flight delay was due to technical issues which they class as extraordinary circumstances due to "safety/technical issues". I have written to the Spanish equivalent of the caa as it was a flight from spain to the uk but no answer yet.
-Easyjet, 400 euro compensation offered immediately :-)0 -
We had a 24hour delay to Cuba in April this year, the flight was with Cubana (Cuba's airline) via The Holiday Place.
I sent them a letter on 7 November which has been ignored.
Should I give up as they no longer fly from the UK and I cant imagine Cuba's airline paying up..0 -

The original judgment awarding passengers the right to compensation for flight delays was handed down in November 2009. You have therefore had 3 years already to begin and lodge a legal claim were you that minded to do so. The recent judgment handed down in October merely re-confirms the existing law.
As for the EU or MSE getting involved further, I think you need a reality check!
Note to Mark2spark - the Reg came into force on 17 Feb 2005.
Not really, they got involved for me.0 -
