Was just checking travel [policy and this is what it says with regards delays...
Section 4 - Delayed departure 20
*(£20 first 12 hours, £10 each extra 12 hours) £300 Nil
* Abandonment £1,000 £50.....0 -
No Centipede you have read it almost correctly, I just maybe didn't make it clear...
I meant those with claims again Monarch , TC and all the others... I was happy to share the claims numbers in our claim....
Whilst I appreciate each individual claim will be different in parts, the basic principle is the same, and wondered if it would help show the court that the travel companies are deploying same tactics as banks and PPi and am guessing hoping it will bog down the courts and annoy the judges/magistrates....
But thanks for your answer and guidanceitis appreciated

The email was directly from Thomas cook as I filled in there online complaints procedures form , so do I still need to write to them directly and not by email or their website ? If so what would I need to say ?
Many thanks0 -

I am waiting to hear from TC regarding a claim for compo for a 7hr flight delay. On looking on their website I found this:
The UK airport agencies and our overseas reps will always look after our delayed customers, and will ensure that where appropriate, they receive food and drinks relevant to the length of any delay. On the 23rd October the European Court of Justice gave judgement and has ruled that in those circumstances, compensation will not normally be payable.
In the event that a customer believes that they have a claim for a long flight delay, we will of course consider carefully whether compensation is properly payable for that claim, but customers should be aware that this will only be the case in relation to a very small number of claims.
Is this correct / legal??????0 -

Best excuse yet I believe
Start MCOl and see what they say then.
Don't forget to get a screen shot of their web-page to put before the judge :rotfl:0 -
Evening all. I have just stumbled upon this thread, great info on here as usual. I wonder if anyone can help me out.
My flight with FlyThomasCook from Gatwick to Orlando Sanford was delayed by just over 5 hours due to a backlog of delays.
Two weeks later my return flight was delayed by 25 hours due to a fault with the aircraft. Thomas Cook actually did a good job of getting us into a hotel quickly.
Where do I go from here? Shall I submit a letter like in the MSE article? Do I claim for a refund? Or compensation? Or both?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve0 -

Read back through this thread and pay particular attention to the last few pages and the posts from either blindman or Centipede. Good luck.0 -
As Thomas Cook seem to be one Company who are not adverse to declining claims for spurious reasons (given comments from recent posters) I thought it worth drawing your attention to this thread from a recent posting on the Aviation Herald web site.

Anybody know how much can be claimed for a 25 hour delay to Goa, which is over 3.5k kilometres. We were out up in a hotel and provided with food etc. but that I not the point, we have missed over a day of our holiday which you can't get back0
