Still no sign of anything from NCI so I called them today. Apparently my docs were posted 10 days ago - nothing received - so they emailed them.

The dogs DOB is wrong (day and year are correct, month is wrong) so I'm not overly confident that they've got the rest of the data migration right. And under existing conditions they've listed "none" when he has had a couple of treatments and claims under the Axa policy - I've asked for clarification.

When are you due to renew? My Policy runs out at the end of this month and I've not had anything through yet - not that I'm likely to get an affordable quote, due to all we've claimed the last two years :(

  • Mine are due on 20th Sept and I've had my stuff for at least a week (but that was after chasing them up) - I'd give them a phone

Luckily mine have no exclusions (well Mia does, but it's already excluded anyway) so I've moved BUT I did need the quote to make that final decision

NCI was too expensive compared to others & TBH I'd rather not be with a company where I can't find any info / recommendations on how they handle claims / pay out quickly etc
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!

I took your advice today and rang NCI - with a great deal of trepidation I must admit. The young man I spoke to sounded rather nervous as he ran through the cover and I swear I heard him gulp right before he gave me my new quote!!
As of next month, my whippet girl will cost £69 a month to insure. Currently we're paying £48 and given that we've had some extremely large ongoing claims over the last 3 policy years ( almost £20,000) I'm very happy with that increase :T We're lucky that we have some easily accessible savings, so speed of paying out on claims isn't a big issue, but just need the paperwork to tally with the phonecall now ;)

Uff, may have spoken too soon :( The email says she has no pre existing conditions, despite the adviser telling me they had two on record. Looks like I need to get back on the phone and pray the premium is based on the inclusion of the conditions.

It seems NCI are not improving.

It would be interesting to know if anybody has any experience of their claim paying performance.

Is it as much of a shambles?

They've not provided pet insurance before now so until a few people have moved over & made claims there's no reviews (another thing that put me off - really unhappy with Axa for letting them take on the policies especially for this reason)
